Hunters Hall Inn Kingscote
Dinner yesterday. Room was freezing. NO radiators were on and log fire not lit. Service was poor. Staff were disappearing so waiting or looking for them. No cutlery given until asked for. Sharing starter for two was OK but very small portion with two onion rings, two button mushrooms, 4 chicken strips, 3 pieces of bread and the baked cheese. Fish and chips portion small, really hot so that was the good part but what fish was it? tasteless except for an earthy aftertaste. Like old frozen fish. No one asked if the meal was OK (it was not). Have eaten here before when they were busy and service was better.Response to owner.My partner tried to turn the radiator up as it was stone cold. However the control was already on highest so either the radiator is broken or none of the heating was on!He therefore went to our car to get my coat!It is actually incredibily offensive and worrying for you to suggest that someone had taken food from the starter after it left the kitchen. It definately was not there when we received the plate. So what are you alledgeing ? Other people actually left as fed up with looking for staff. Woman staff member stitching by bar asked them to wait but they left in disgust.

A beautiful pub with friendly staff who hosted a Christmas party for us this week. You went above and beyond and the decorations were incredible and definitely put everyone in the festive spirit! Keep being incredible

Hunters Hall Inn Kingscote
A non researched stop after visiting nearby Newark Park, that turned out to be a lovely experience and hope to return. The car park and outside needs a bit of attention but more than made up for by the service, characterful surroundings, food and vibe here. Great guinness too! Very dog friendly (who loved her dinner!) and a great spot for Sunday lunch.

We ate at the pub restaurant and had a nice evening. The food was good, but the portions were quite small. The service was great and we were well looked after. The place was very quiet and rather cold, they had a stove which was not in use. Could do with fixing it to warm the place up.

Beautiful 16th century pub with plenty of real fires, very dog friendly, and lovely staff here. Due an exterior refurbishment soon which should look excellent. I'd love to see more local ciders and vegan options here!

We booked a table for 2, we were placed in a spot, they called the snug as it's more private and cosy, not true, it was extremely noisy because of several boisterous people shouting in the bar very near us. Annoying but not the major issue, our order for food was taken, coming close to an hour later when we were still waiting, I was about to ask how much longer when what I assume was the manager came to our table and apologized because of an order mix up, apparently it never made it to the kitchen, it got lost. He offered to deduct 20% of the bill cost, we left it at that as mistakes sometimes happen, the food came, my wife and I are vegetarian, we had the meat free burgers with chips, the chips tasted like they'd been reheated in a microwave, my wife's lettuce was going brown on the edges, generally disappointing, not the best meal we've had.I ordered another beer to wash it all down with, that failed to turn up.I asked for the bill, asked for the beer that failed to turn up to be deducted, then left.That's our third and final visit to the Hunters Hall!

The most chewy low grade steak I've ever seen, cooked by someone who has literally no idea how to cook steak (possibly microwaved? Seriously, it was that bad), and vegetables cooked to a near pulp, assumedly left on the heat for many hours after they were at their best.Really disappointed as this used to be a great Sunday lunch spot 20 years ago.We also got two other tables food/drinks offered to us. Less happy hour" and more "amateur hour" apparently.Two stars because the food came quickly and that tall server lady was nice and professional."

Celebrated a birthday here with 9 of us in the party. Made very welcome & the staff could not have been more helpful.Good Sunday lunch menu with the food brought out in good time & was enjoyable. Not fancy, but good pub food at a very reasonable price.We brought a birthday cake along, and the staff were very happy to supply us with plates and a knife.Thanks so much for a wonderful time.

Seven of us went for lunch and we booked which looks essential as every table had a reserved sign on it. By 1pm the pub was packed which made a great atmosphere.It's a beautiful pub inside and the serving staff were excellent.The food was good, I had the trio roast which tasted fantastic, my only complaint was it wasn't very hot. However, the gravy was hot which helped.The desert was also good and I will certainly go back again.Plenty of parking on-site.

Very friendly welcome from Chloe who later served us at the bar with another very pleasant dark haired lady. Chatty, friendly dog friendly locals. We had a lovely evening meal starting with a delicious sharing platter washed down with a couple of reasonably priced bottles of Malbec. Very comfortable bed, loads of hot water for a nice soak in the bath. Very clean room. The morning staff at breakfast were are so friendly and helpful, made our rotties day with a couple of sneaked out of the kitchen sausages as we were on purpose the last to have breakfast. All in all a really nice cosy night away for a surprise birthday treat, will definitely return.
