ABC to read (Assisting Berkshire Children)

I enjoy hearing children read in school. Nearly all of them are keen to learn and make excellent progress with the one-to one attention. The ABC staff are always friendly and helpful and provide interesting books for the children to read.

If you're interested in looking for some voluntary work and enjoy working with Children then this is a great charity to be involved in. As a reasonably new volunteer I'm still very much learning but I really enjoy the time I spend in school with the Children. I work with three in total, each for half an hour on a one to one basis, and we spend time reading, playing word games and building levels of comprehension. The children I work with are only five but even at that age it's so rewarding to see their progress as we move through the academic year. If you don't want to volunteer but are looking for a charity to support then please consider ABC to read.
