We tried to buy a bike through the cyclescheme, and it went terribly. The bike had a small bit of damage that they couldn't fix, so they decided that they would refund the order rather than get a replacement. Three weeks on and they still haven't refunded the order, and the customer service line still haven't organised pick up from the store. It's amazing a company can survive without a functioning IT system. Please pick any alternative bike shop.

Only book via direct phone call to store. The store does not connect with Evans Cycles online & does not manage or provide services advertised on Evans Cycles website. To make matters worse, the website team do not care & the store management ignore the online system, only turning away people as they arrive to store.Store management are aware of this issue & did not appear to care about the inconvenience caused to customers trying to pay for their services.I've always tried to use Evans Cycles, so I'm really gutted to feel the need to leave such a disappointing review.

Ridiculous client service and completely unreliable... I came with a broken derailleur and was convinced to get new gears and chain (the chain was a bit stretched but it was fine). After 2 months the chain got stretched 10x times more then the previous one (which I had for 3 years) and more rusty than anything I have ever seen (I've never kept it outdoors). I was told that if I don't wipe the chain with a cloth and lubricate it every single day this is what will happen... What a service... I tried to explain that I took the same amount of care of the chain as with the previous one, but they kept telling me the same sentence over and over again, saying that they will not reimburse anything and that it's all my fault. The bottomline is that I would be much better off if I haven't changed my old chain in the first place (much less stretched and much less rusty after 10x longer), but the staff kept telling me that I'm wasting my time coming back the bike shop... A complete joke

Their online website implied that they had slots open for servicing, but on going into the store they told me that the technician wouldn't be able to make it into the store for at least a week. I understand that this kind of thing can happen (people take holidays/are ill/etc) but this should be communicated better, ideally through their website

Absolutely amazing service guys! My Trek vintage MTB (circa 2000/2003!) had not been serviced for many, many years. Testament to the professional staff, who explained everything, had a silver service, new brake pads, cables and chain. It rides like a dream and looks like new! Amazing work!

Utterly ludicrous new policy of no early drop offs for servicing. Got refused drop off of my bike both the evening before service was due (9 am next morning) and, more ridiculously, at 8 am on same day of servicing (still a 9 am one). No space to keep a bike for 1 hour? Disgraceful.

Don't accept bikes for repairs on the weekend, even to drop off. Have to arrange an appointment during the week. Did so and it got cancelled as one staff member off sick. Inconvenient process and feeble customer service, so will take my custom elsewhere.

Good value for money on a bike I bought 18 months ago but that's where the positives stop. Told me over the phone that someone could sell me and fit a rack and mudguards when I picked up the bike, when I picked it up I was told I'd have to pay extra for the fitting service, they couldn't do it anytime soon and wouldn't hold onto the bike until they could. I've since tried several times to go in for my complementary" service

Has taken them seven weeks to fix a broken spoke on a bike. They only offered to replace it with a standard spoke after six weeks, after struggling to find custom spokes that matched the gauge of the originals (and did offer to switch the custom spokes in when they eventually do arrive which is kind of them). They seem genuinely nice in store and are trying to help, but I'd definitely expect a faster service for a simple spoke repair even given the circumstances.

When I first read reviews about them, I got shaky to place an order here, but before that, I had met them in person at the store and they were nice to me and helpful! so I trust my gut and proceed with them. I'm so happy that I did that! I found them patient with my Cyclescheme purchase and all other not straightforward stuff. From the first day, Santi -a kind man- walked me through different brands and described how they might meet my expectations from a bike and even when I received the bike when I asked about insurance he helped me how can I do to prevent upcoming problems.
