The Garden Tea Rooms

Drove 45min to have lunch here, just as we arrived they announced they were closing the kitchen early because they were short staffed. Even though they had lunch items that were already cooked like quiche and soup they refused to serve them. Best we could do was 2 scones, coffee, and a bag of crisps. The food was good. The tea house and lawn were lovely. I'd go back but I wouldn't count on them to actually meet the hours they've committed to.

The setting is great, the food is good (especially the gluten-free scones), and the staff and friendly. Sadly, both the tea and coffee are poor quality and should be avoided, the same issue 11 months apart and nothing has improved.The tea is awful. It is a very weak brand with not much tea in the bag (think supermarket value brand style). Left to brew for five minutes yet still was weak, watery, and unpleasant to drink.The coffee is worse yet. It’s incredibly weak, bitter and void of any flavour notes (tastes likes very low quality beans that aren’t freshly ground), and the milk is also watery (perhaps skimmed or semi skimmed, and burnt when steaming) destroying the texture and taste. See the picture below of the white mug, that's a 'latte' - there’s is no velvety hues of brown and white like one would expect from a latte, because there is no espresso crema at all - it looks like something that comes out of a cheap vending machine and tastes even worse.I don’t understand how a ‘tea room’ can get tea and coffee so wrong. And at the prices they change for their awful drinks; it’s almost insulting. They need better quality supplies of both coffee beans and milk, and some training on how to make good coffee.My recommendation would be to buy cakes/scones here, but bring your own accompanying tea and coffee in a flask.

A perfect English country tea room. Delicious lunches, cakes and cream teas. The staff are friendly and welcoming and although it was quite busy and we had to queue everything was well organised and we got our food pretty quickly. It has a large, beautiful outside area and 2 inside areas to sit.

Been twice in the last two weeks and have to say the scones are superb. They also do damn fine coffee. Service is great with happy cheerful staff even when rushing around.

It's a lovely place with a range of good interesting food and good service in the most beautiful of settings.Highly recommended.Just be careful of your cars health on the unmade roads leading to the tea rooms!

This place is fantastic. Visited after Witley Court for lunch. Paninis, cake and tea all delicious and lovely friendly staff who also made our dogs very welcome. Catered very well for a vegan and non. Will definitely be back soon.

We visited the Garden Tea Rooms near Saint Michael and All Angels Church and Witley Court on July 1st. The tea rooms are located close to the church.Our drive to the church took us past some beautiful countryside. It is a lovely property with ample seating both in a garden, a conservatory, and a traditional room.The menu is suitable for a light lunch and there are several delightful cakes and beverages to choose from.The service at the tea room is great. We have been here a few times and we are always treated with a smile.We had the quiche of the day with salad. The quiche was very good and apparently is made fresh daily.

A lovely garden setting the perfect mood for afternoon tea and lunches.Staff are very friendly and helpful.Will definitely return again.

Traditional café with plenty of outdoor/indoor seating. Pretty standard fare as expected, except for the cabinet full of yummy cakes. Pictures, cards and pottery displayed inside which adds to the atmosphere of charm.

What a lovely relaxing beautiful place to spend some time! Absolutely amazing selection of dietary requirement good gluten free cakes, vegan cake and sandwiches etcGreat selection of teas and coffee. Very friendly service. God friendly all round great experience.
