Staying in a local cottage and had dinner here one evening, nice pub food at a reasonable price. Friendly staff in a nice little village location.

Stayed two nights, room was NOT serviced next day so dirty cups and no coffee or tea second night. Springs coming through in mattress and pillows were dreadful. Real shame, could be nice. Just a little TLC. Needed. Maybe a mirror that's not in bathroom, so that you could use straightener/ hairdryer. If you wanted a quiet drink you'd need to go to your room, music so loud (and I love music) but everyone was shouting to have a conversation.

They did a buffet for a family funeral and I must say the selection of food, the quantity and quality was absolutely excellent.

The location is great for a relaxing holiday, on the edge of the forest of dean. The price is outstanding value. The service was a bit poor. the hotel is mainly a restaurant that serves the whole town of Little Dean, and the restaurant had to pause ordering on a saturday night , end of May, due to being overly stretched, for more than 45 minutes. The attitude of service was a little on the weak side, but it is understandable given the function the hotel and reastaurant is playing overall in the town. Just worth being aware of this.

Food’s great. Had a couple of meals here recently; one gammon, one steak. Both cooked perfectly. Hilarious that they tell you to note the table number and order at the bar when none of the tables have numbers!

Very clean room ideal for 1 or 2 nights, friendly staff. Good value food for Saturday evening and Sunday lunch.

Popped in for breakfast, wasn’t staying at this hotel. Glad I visited. Incredible selection of cold breakfast items in terms of value for money. The cooked breakfast was done to order and was beautiful. Couldn’t believe all of this was just £6. Incredible value for money.

Visited for my mother in laws birthday for a carvery, staff very friendly and food was very reasonable and tasty. i prefer my beef medium rare so the meat was overdone for me, but i also had turkey which was perfectly moist. nice pudding selection, i opted for the sundae

I stayed the night with my brother and his wife. It was our chance to get together for our birthday and Christmas celebration as I will be away this year.The atmosphere was very friendly and very comfortable. The staff went out of their way to help in every way possible. From getting us checked into our rooms and later to our evening meal.The food on each plate was more than anyone can eat they certainly give large portions there and breakfast the following day was no different.I would fully recommend this place for a stay when coming to the forest for a visit as there are many local attractions close by.
