Every Telephone appointment is delayed by 30 minutes plus. The admin team is so dysfunctional. Constantly having to chase. The ease of use of the service is non existent. Takes months just to book a Telephone appointment. Test results take ages. Just a dreadful experience all round.

If it wasn’t for Leeds fertility clinic I wouldn’t have conceived my daughter in 2021! Ovulation treatment and worked first round. Excellent care and the appointments were always efficient, the nurses were all so lovely. Can’t speak about how it is since being owned by Care Fertility but I had an amazing experience in 2021.

It's taken me a while to get round to writing this review as, ultimately, my treatment didn't work. However, the care and support I received from this clinic was amazing. I knew the odds were stacked against me but wanted to give it a go. Anyone who has been through IVF understands the emotional rollercoaster of having a good quality embryo transferred only for it not to work. It's heartbreaking and crushing beyond belief but at least I knew I was in the care of one the leading doctors in the UK and that everything possible was done to help me get a positive result. Knowing I tried everything and that I couldn't have received better care really helps. The doctors and nurses were caring and supportive, including the anaesthetist who popped in to see me after my egg collection to check I was OK. I felt so well looked after. IVF is stressful and I wanted to give myself the best chances so I chose them because of their success rates but everyone was really kind too, thank you.

I cannot thank this clinic for all the support they offered me during my treatment. I was very lucky to have a successful cycle. The staff were amazing and were always on hand whenever we needed them. I spoke to the clinic admin team a lot and they were first class. Thank you and I would highly recommend.

DO NOT SEE ADAM BALEN.My partner & I reached out to Leeds Fertility Clinic anxious about the process but optimistic that we were going to get the help and advice we wanted. We were placed with Adam Balen who upon research was the lead clinician at the clinic. Initially we were happy with this but could not have been more let down.As a healthcare professional myself I cannot emphasise how poor Adam's communication skills are. He completely lacks empathy and at no point did we feel supported. We never understood what our results meant or what the next phase of the plan would be.We had 4 consultations with Adam all of which were virtual - 1 over video and the other 3 over telephone. This was despite all covid restrictions having been lifted! Each consultation was less than 10 minutes and we felt he rushed us off the phone every time. Not really worth the £200 consultation fee!The most frustrating thing was any question we had Adam told us to buy his book on Amazon. We bought this after the first session and despite telling him we had bought it in our second and third session he told us the answer to our questions in session 4 were in his book and we should buy it. By this point I argued with him that all he ever did was try and sell his book at which point I was told I was being 'abrasive & argumentative'.In addition, I was given dietary advice and asked for the research papers to read about it. Adam was unable to provide this and again said I should not challenge him and to refer to his book. His actual words were 'I am not sure, I did not write the nutrition section of the book'.As if the process isn't emotional and challenging enough, Adam's complete lack of personal skills and obvious focus on making money made this much worse. To make the entire experience worse... after a year we asked to be moved onto the NHS waiting list and to be moved to a different consultant.Today we called about a test we were told we needed to do, to be told that Adam had removed us from the NHS waiting list in February for missing an appointment with him. We didn't receive any notification of the appointment or of our removal from the waiting list.We have been left lost, without a plan and significantly out of pocket. We have spoken to others who have worked with other consultants at Leeds Fertility who had positive experiences but I cannot stress highly enough to avoid Adam Balen.I cannot recommend you do your research and read the multiple terrible reviews about this clinic.

Have waited a few months after my last failed treatment to review. I originally started dealing with Leeds when it was still Leeds Fertility NHS. When I was finally able to return to start treatment it had been taken over by Care Fertility and the service/support lacking, nurses not empathetic or explain things correctly/misleading. Prices jumped rapidly during time under Care. Completing as a single female I would not recommend this to anyone else in similar position, IUI patients not treated with same care as IVF. The only reason it is 2 and not a 1 star is because I spoke to Karen (embryologist) and Damien (feedback manager) who spent time explaining the donor process and things to consider. spoke with a senior nurse as lots of hiccups along the way who apologised and was polite but cannot say it improved my experience going forward with the team or my view on the clinic.

Horrendous experience and I was a paying client. Adam Balen is patronising and money grabbing. He won't remember your name, your background or anything from previous sessions - But he will remember to ask if you've bought his book (Which we did on the first session). To detail our experience: We paid for all of the individual tests, we then had to pay for the results for a follow up (which is a £200 zoom call). The results analysis involves Adam reading numbers to you (which you receive yourself in the post) and when you question him on what they mean, he will direct you to buy his book (eg what is this point in this session then??). These follow up zoom sessions last a maximum of 15 minutes - I originally looked forward to these as I thought I would be reassured and given a plan for the future- This categorically never happened. Adam Balen spends this time advising you to buy his book (forgetting that he's said this in every session and that you have already bought it) and that 'IVF will have the most success but lets do more tests'- We did test after test after test - You would think that they would cover all of these tests in one go and then analyse all the results, but instead: You pay for test, pay for results, pay for next test, pay for results ETC.The clinic will spend more time chasing you for the money than they will in speaking to you about your next steps or your welfare and feelings. We are now paying to go to a new clinic because I am so upset by how we've been treated, I never once felt re-asurred for the future (despite actually having positive test results), I was spoken down to and left to feel stupid every step of the way. Adam does not care about how you feel or the sensitivity of the process, he only cares about money.

I can only praise and thank the clinic for their high quality care and support since the minute we engaged with them. The nurses particularly have gone over and above to help us through, what would have always been, a very emotional and rollercoaster journey. We have had excellent communication, guidance and support - from consultations through to phone calls where I have just reached out for general advice or reassurance. The team have made me smile and feel at ease during times of uncertainty or sadness. We are still on our journey and uncertain of what's next, but I am very thankful to be under the care of this amazing team. Thank you X

I went for initial scan in 2021 after having a long awaited phone appointment. Initially I was told there was nothing wrong with me and it was just my husbands low sperm count due to his kidney disease. When I went for the scan they told me I had a massive endometrioma on my ovary, I had no idea I had endometriosis as I have zero symptoms. I was a little shocked how the news was delivered and told someone would ring me to discuss, this took a month, which left me with such anxiety. Eventually i was told I needed an operation to have it removed. That took another 5 months, nothing was really explained to me just it needed removing for IVF. Once I had it removed I must of been on the longest protocol known to man, as I was put on Prostap for 7 months. I chased up IVF several times but just kept getting told it would be soon. By this time it had been a year and 2 months since my first appointment. When I went for my first baseline scan to get started I still couldn’t start as I’d been on the prostap so long a cyst had grown & my lining was too thick. I then had to wait another month. When I finally started some of the scans were just awful and worrying. The egg collection and transfer were fine, the first one unfortunately did not work. I then had a FET In December. The amount of estrogen I was given caused my endometrioma to grow back even bigger than it first was. I don’t understand why nobody seems to tailor to my needs knowing I have endometriosis. On the scan they didn’t even know what it was. Again the egg transfer was fine and it was successful but I later had a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks. On the first pregnancy scan the endometrioma had grown more and we were eagerly waiting to see if the baby was there and she just said she couldn’t find it, then I had to explain about the endometrioma and then she finally found it, how unprofessional. Since my miscarriage I have been to see a endo specialist who has said they have under diagnosed my endo and never got rid of the problem. The NICE guidelines say you should be offered a endo specialist as well and I never received that. I have also explained I have a short luteal phase, which is why I think the first cycle did not work but nobody seems to listen or care when I know that can be a problem when you have endo too. I have absolutely zero faith in going here for a second paid round with the stress it has caused me.
