Good place to park for walking your dog. Excellent views from the Miner at the top. Take your binoculars. Can't get lost so go explore.

A nice little circular walk on the former Silverhill colliery pit tip if you have an hour spare (there are also longer walks available if required), with a small car park. There is a little bit of climbing, but the paths are generally good, with only small amounts of mud on some paths in wet weather periods.I've also cycled around there, and it may be ok for pushchairs and wheelchairs with a bit of effort. However, there are only steps at the last bit which gets you to the actual Miner's statue at the top (but you don't have to do that bit if you are unabletodo it).The views at the top are great. You can see the counties of Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, and probably Yorkshire. There is a compass point that points out specific landmarks. I believe this is now the highest point in Nottinghamshire, which is obviously man-made. I think the highest natural point is Strawberry Bank in Huthwaite.

Lovely place to walk and has routes to cater for all abilities. The views are great all round also. My only problem was I was in a high top van and the height restriction for the carpark is only 2.05 MTRS!! So you then have to park on the road.
