The manager stated that Sainsburys are currently running two payment systems and there is an intermittent problem accepting Visa payments. She also informed me that the staff do not understand this, they know of the issue but do not understand.She then stated I could pay with cash as an option, in this day and age it is reasonable to expect to be able to pay for your shopping on a debit card. It has happened on three different occasions in the last month and is not what you want when you are at the till trying to pay for your groceries.The cashier was very polite, and said it happened occasionaly. Customer service doesnt want to know, hasnt got a clue or any customer skills what so ever, and according to her store manager knows but doesnt understand.I am forced to shop elsewhere even though this is my local supermarket, this wouldnt happen at Tesco as they care about every customer and value them.Change the manager at Sainsburys as she is a big part of the problem

I had a complaint about a product I bought from Newton Abbot but I couldn't get there because I don't live nearby so I came to Torquay Road Local and I spoke to Chris who was very polite but said he had to go for his break and he would call someone over. 10 minutes later Josh came over. I explained what Chris had just said to him over the headset. He then started to talk to Chris saying This customer is difficult can you serve him?" How did Josh get his job as a manager? It's disgusting. I wonder why Newton Abbot got rid of him. Anyway Chris then came over and thankfully he was very helpful! Big up Chris! ✊"

The blonde manager here is by f a r the RUDEST woman i have ever met!! No appreciation for customers at ALL! Very cut and dry. Since coming here for aroumd a montg i have watched her accuse 3 people of stealing - (who were not infact stealing atall!) There have been other scenarios but this woman is just terrible.

Great smaller Supermarket with easy parking. Perhaps not such a large choice of goods, but most things you want and more easily than found than in a big shop. Friendly helpful staff.

First class shop. Always well stocked. staff most helpful and pleasant. Worth the extra you sometimes have to pay having it so near and a car park free.

Excellent staff and very quick tills. When busy a buzz from the tills brings other workers ensuring fast check out. Best efficiency I have seen in a small shop. Credit to the manager and staff at this mini supermarket.The brown seeded loafs are wonderful.
