I've stayed at the Carpenters many times over the last few years, but this was my first return for a few months. Wow. The new team seem to have completely transformed it! Both the food and accommodation were good before, but both are great. Rooms feel much more luxurious. Food was outstanding. I don't usually have time for breakfast before leaving, and it's perhaps a little odd to get so excited about scrambled egg on toast, but this was just the best ever! Already got my team Christmas lunch booked here, and will definitely be returning.

One night solo stay on business. Fantastic quality room. Far exceed my expectations for the price paid. Also sampled the pub for an evening meal and client lunch, both clearly made with care and attention that reflects the menu and pricing.Staff always helpful without issue.Recommend the pub and hotel. If I'm back in the area I'll be sure to re-visit.

I booked this place last minute and it really exceeded all of my expectations. The room was lovely, well furnished and spotlessly clean. It’s just a little bit out of Tonbridge but there is a good bus service or you can walk it in 45 mins. It is totally worth it to stay that bit further out for such a lovely and comfortable stay. I will certainly be returning and I cannot wait to test out the restaurant.

Every time I eat here the food is really delicious, especially for dinner. Each area has been refurbished as well so it's a lovely cosy environment and has been finished to a really high standard. Even the outdoor seating area is really lovely.

Spent a very pleasant Friday afternoon sitting by the fire with my brother and a couple of pints of Guinness. There were Christmas lunches taking place and the pub had a very warm, inviting, 'Christmassy' ambience. I've recommended the pub to everyone it seems and I'll be back there this week to hopefully sample more of the festive atmosphere.

Stopped here for a single night on my way to a meeting out East. So, so glad I did. The welcome was warm, the food was really great, but the room itself was what made it for me. I'm a tall man and I detest cramped showers. These were custom-built, wide, high enough so I didn't have to stoop down to get clean - everything I could hope for, and something that a lot of hotels get woefully wrong. The choice of bedding was superb - heavy, warm, comfy duvet and perfect pillows - I don't recall waking up so refreshed in a long time. Absolutely recommend.

Stayed over after a friend's party this weekend.A really nice place to stay with lots of outdoor space including heat lamps. Several different rooms internally for dining or just drinks. We ate dinner and breakfast here - for dinner I had fish and chips and the missus had steak. Both were really nicely done, the haddock in particular was one of the best I've had for a long time, the batter was perfection. The chips and new potatoes were perfect as well. Everything was served really piping hot as well which is a really good sign in my experience. The menu is notch or two above standard pub grub overall.Breakfast was also excellent, I had the full English and I could barely move afterward. Not really sure it's worth taking the B&B option when booking because it doesn't seem to save you any money, unless I'm missing something.A few minor things - the TV didn't have any signal (wasn't really bothered about it though), the coffee machine in the room seemed to be dead (tried a few things to reboot it but no joy) and the Wifi did seem to have some problems when signing in, although that did work in the end.The room itself was pretty and the bathroom was good but the bed, although fine, wasn't amazing (should be memory foam these days really) and there was a bit of noise from the security doors slamming. Then again the staff were brilliant and really helpful. I guess 4.5 stars really.

The service and the meal was fantastic all nine of us were look after and nothing was to much trouble. Which sorry to say change after 11 o'clock we were told in no uncertain terms that it was late and we need to go Which was repeated a couple of times. As we had spent about a £1000 with the meal and drinks it would have been nice to have Finnish drinks in are own time. But as I said the food was excellent
