My dear friend recently passed away. His parents had initially requested a direct cremation as was his wishes. As you can imagine at a time like that people can change their minds back and forth. So it changed from a direct cremation, one which no one attends. To a few close people attending. As we were waiting in the little family room the man running the proceedings came into the room and said it won't be long. We are just waiting for the furnace to come up to temperature ". This is absolutely inappropriate.My friends mother had requested a few moments in the main room were his body had lay for a while. She did not want to go in when the coffin was still there. Myself and others said there goodbyes and he was taken out of the room. Now was his mother's time to sit in the room for a quiet moment. Then without warning

The BSFS team, led by Sam Smith, made a huge contribution leading up to and on the day of my beautiful wife's funeral, 1 February, 2023, at Banchory Christian Fellowship Church and Baldarroch Crematorium. Their guidance, empathy and attention to detail was absolutely invaluable. Please accept our very warm thanks for all you did -- the day meant everything to us. Rod and family.

Everything went like clockwork from start to finish. They did everything and made helpful suggestion. Most respectful throughout and the service at the crematorium was all that I could have wished for.

I would like to express my sincere thanks to Sean and all the staff at Brian Smith Funeral Services. Everyone deals with bereavement differently, we have cried, laughed, screamed inside until it physically hurts. It takes very caring and understanding people to allow us to express our feelings in such abstrange and traumatic time. The staff helped us through the most awful time of our lives.Anne McCusker
