Moulin Hotel

Didn’t stay but food and service was very poor, especially considering the price. Burger buns were so stale, they were inedible and the burger itself was dry and tasteless. When mentioned to the waitress upon collecting our plates, we were just met with dirty looks.

Can't speak of the rooms. But the service and food in the restaurant/bar is honestly impressively bad.Waiters have no clue of who to serve or when. We had two different waiters come to our table and ask if they had the right table.When our order finally arrived (~45min for 7 people). I don't know where to begin.The avocado of the Buddha bowl was blacker than my morning coffee. The Angus burger is quite literally, bread, Sallad, burger, bread. No sauce, no nothing.The Garlic bread for the Macaroni and Cheese was burnt to a crisp. Can you imagine getting burnt bread in a country who's national dish is basically toast? Again, I'm not disappointed, I'm impressed.If you're just passing by, keep doing just that.

A great experience had. We were there for drinks and something to eat.The service was prompt and the food was very good. Possibly a bit on the pricey side. But it is a captive market being catered for.

I had a couple of pints here on Monday (28/08) after climbing Ben Y-Vrackie. Sat outside in the sun , very relaxing. I've been here many times in the last 15 years or so. The service, food, and accommodation has always been excellent. A great atmosphere in winter. Although we didn't eat today, the outside service was excellent. Highly recommended.

Lovely old pub which used to have a great ambiance and a uniquely Scottish menu, less so now sadly. It might help if the old menu were brought back rather than serving mediocre food that one can get anywhere.

Friendly attentive staff, had a lovely dinner here with parents.Gluten free meals, vegan meals, vegetarian meals - options to choose from.Big plates of food and tasty - can't ask for much more.Try their ales - made on site.

Lovely location - terrible food. Location draws you in ..beautiful setting, decent beers. Then the food arrives .. disappointment doesn't even begin to describe it. Cold, made without any love or skill, over priced, bland .. wish we hadn't bothered. Kitchen needs a kick up the back side. As an example my kids and burger and chips. Both arrived cold .. with a cold slice of hard cheese .. i asked if the cheese could be melted / grilled and they refused. Even though other burgers coming out all had melted cheese on them. Such a shame .. it draws you in with the setting .. and it's a lovely place to stop for a drink ... but stop there - do not order food!

The exterior and main floor of the hotel are charming, but the rooms are extremely dated- the mattress is so old it sags, and the bathroom is of an age that you can’t keep it from collecting mold. The rooms lack the charm of the rest of the hotel as well. The pub was good, beer was disappointing, good selection of 10-12yr single malts, but nothing on the higher end. Moulin itself is a beautiful town square, I’d happily stay in a nearby cottage.

Strangely unwelcoming bar staff! Nice location and interior is cozy but you get the sense the staff would rather you had gone elsewhere. Beer good from the local brewery in Moulin.

We visited Moulin a lot of times, but have the impression quality decreased significantly over the recent years. We arrived in the late afternoon for food. Had to ask for the waiter to place our food order. The haggis was fine, but the burger arrived completely burned. Trying to return it resulted in the waiter bringing it back and telling us that this is how char-coal grilled burgers always come out. If that is the case, I would rather choose something else, or somewhere...
