*IMPORTANT READ*: I purchased my car from The Motor Company in Sutton Coldfield 3 weeks ago. I had a limited budget so needed a car that was good value.I visited several garages around Birmingham and basically became fed up being shown cars that were clearly poor in quality and salesmen thinking they could pull the wool over my eyes.I then came across The Motor Company. This is a family run business and they clearly care about the quality of the cars they sell and their customers. I rang several times to ask about cars for sale but being at the lower end of the price range they have, the cars sold very quickly. Eventually a car came up, which I purchased. There were a couple of little things that we noticed which were sorted out straight away with no questions asked. Communication has been excellent both verbally and online, very honest when asking questions about historical feedback, absolutely no sales patter, free to have a look and check out any aspect of the cars etc. The car was an 09 plate yet it was still sold with a PREMIUM 6 month warranty at no extra cost to me, which can be used at ANY garage. I cannot recommend The Motor Company enough for an excellent quality car, a very fair price and confidence in having purchased a good, safe car.

Sold a car, said they'd get it MOTd for me, few days later said ready for pick up. Stupidly took their word that the MOT website would update next day. Paid and took car home.Turns out MOT had not been done, and when battery failed a week later guess it wasn't covered under their warranty.And to top it off, said they'd send the touch up pen for the paint in the post....never turned up!

Would not buy from here again..Brought a car and the dealer were transparent about the damage history but not much else. Supplied out of date v5 certificates and never told they were so have had to source my own which has left me unable to tax or drive the car 5 weeks and counting.Had my mechanic check the car as a precaution and since found a suspension fault. The dealer believes this is wear and tear or likely caused by a pothole but I don't see how when the vehicle can't legally be driven and hasn't left my drive. They did offer to repair but getting a response is like getting blood from a stone.Aftersales care is non existent and I have told what I want to hear only I find out this is a lie. There is only so much chasing you can do before you realise you're wasting your time. I feel I've been more than reasonable but have found this to be the worst experience buying a car I've had. Will not be back but if you do buy from be careful and thorough

From my own experience of buying a car from The Motor Company ALWAYS ALWAYS check the history of the car you are buying, chatty guy, could talk the talk but failed to mention the car we was buying was a CAT N write off. Only found out because after only 11months of owning the £4000 car, the head gasket went and the car was unrepairable (which was unfortunate and no ones fault), we needed a car so decided to scrap it, the scrap company informed us it had been written off the previous year so couldn't give us the original price they'd offered. The car is still on our drive and we are not sure what to do for the best.Following on from your reply to my above review, I feel the need to jog your memory and check your diary, you we made 3 different appointments for your mechanic to call and 3 times he failed to show up!Please don't undermind what I share as a true review on my experience with the Motor Company.

If you are thinking of buying here, please don't! Things will seem ok at first but then you will be met with constant excuses, stories changing and then just be ignored!I bought a cat s vauxhall astra 2.0L CDTI from them, the car is a 2013 so you wouldn't expect any major issues with it, as it was advertised as in 'stunning condition inside and out' also 'full service history with recent cam belt and water pump'First of all I have an error message coming up 'service park assist' this means the parking sensors were not working, also dual climate control works fine on the passenger side but does not work on the drivers side, the wrong windscreen was fitted meaning the rain and light sensor could not be installed meaning the rain sensing wipers and auto lights don't work, after being promised via email 4 times now I have still NOT received proof of cam belt change or the remaining service history (to cover the 40k that is missing)I was promised that they would rectify all faults with the car but they would need it for the full day which I had no problem with, once I tried to get it booked in I was told that it would need to be left with them for 3 days, me being the only driver in my family and needing the use of my car daily this would not be possible for me.The car was apparently sold with 6 months warranty, I have received nothing regarding this and I am still waiting for a receipt for my purchase.Two weeks into my ownership of the car it broke down, this was due to a fault with the turbo, my mechanic reset the fault to see if it reoccurred 3 days later I experienced the same problem, I emailed about this and had to hound them for a response, to which I was told to bring it in, I live around 160 miles away from this dealer and it was in no fit state to be driven, I in the end had to replace the turbo, while this was being replaced the mechanic found that the radiator was not attached to the car and was just swinging around, this meant the fan had started to eat the wiring loom which also had to be repaired, the front airbag sensor that sets the airbags off in event of an accident was not attached to the car just sat on top of the radiator (completely unsafe)So far I have had to spend in excess of £700 on a car that was described as perfect! And again am been ignored by the owner of the establishment.If you are considering buying here please DON'T!** in response to the dealers reply, if they undertook a detailed inspection of the car they would have at least noticed the rain / light sensor assembly was missing, that the parking sensors don't work and that the climate control has a fault, these were all present when I collected the car, so obviously you do NOT inspect them at all!**

I purchased a used E Class Mercedes from Matt. He is very professional and respectful i contacted the dealership after hours and his response was prompt. I felt he went out of his way to help and support me. Most garages will sell the car and you will never hear from them however after I took delivery of the vehicle as its a used car the standards exceeded my expectations presented very well. Car looked immaculate. Very impressed. After a few days I had a very very minor issue and Matt was extremely quick to help me get it sorted. Very impressed world class garage. Definitely recommend and will be using to purchase any future cars. Well done Matt and Team.

Avoid this company at all costs. We recently purchased a vehicle which was delivered 11th January 2022. By Friday the vehicle was back in the garage with numerous safety related faults including no brake pads on the rear wheels. The garage has agreed to refund the work carried out but we are still waiting. We are also waiting for all the required paperwork and documentation that should have been sent with the car despite numerous emails & phone calls. This case is now with Trading Standards in Staffordshire

Great family run Dealership with a good range of cars. Good old fashion customer service, no pressure sales tactics here and had plenty of time to look over the lovely VW UP my daughter purchased today. Travelled from Bristol to see the car and Matt picked me up from Tamworth train station. Well worth travelling over 100 miles to get a quality motor at a good price. Thanks Guys. A credit to the motor trade.

Bought a car from The Car Company last week, I bought it unseen, (something I would ordinarily never do)the advert for the car was very good, so decided to phone & ask some questions, I spoke to Matt, he couldn’t have been more helpful, based on our conversation I went ahead with the purchase, the car was delivered the following day, I was not disappointed, car was as described in the ad & by Matt, a warranty comes with the car, which was a bonus because I didn’t spend thousands, I needed something that looks good & is reliable for work. It’s not very often you find an honest car dealer, think The Car Company is the exception to the rule. I would have no hesitation in recommending them, in fact I’ve suggested to my son that he gives them a try when he is ready to change his car. I will certainly try them again.
