The Roost Luxury Glamping

Fabulous visit for a couple of night stay. The lodge is really well furnished creating a relaxing atmosphere. The log burner adds to the ambience and obviously keeps the room very toasty. Sitting outside around a fire watching the sunset or watching the stars takes you away from any stresses or hustle and bustle of everyday life. We spent hours in the soak tub sipping one or two cheeky glasses of wine.Truly relaxing stay. Would recommend to friends and family.

We stayed at the Roost for 3 nights in ‘the Nook’ Cabin and all expectations were exceeded. We had an absolutely amazing stay. We arrived in rain and as soon as we got there everything was straight forward from getting the key to starting the fire and getting cosy with a nice cup of tea. The Cabin is beautifully decorated and everything has been thought of to make your stay easy and enjoyable. I especially love how eco friendly The Roost is and loved the fire and Japanese tub. The location itself is perfect and very peaceful. I did a couple small walks with my dog from the cabin to the nearby woods. It is only an easy 10 minute car drive from the Forest of Dean and stunning bike trails and sights and 20 minutes from the river Wye. I could go on with how perfect everything was! Totally recommended and we will be back one day. Everything you read and see on the website is exactly what you get.

We spent three nights in the Nest and it was amazing. The cabin is beautifully decorated and has all the facilities needed. The whole space is relaxing and peaceful. We are nature lovers so especially liked that the Roost is located in a Special Area for Conservation and beaming with wildlife, and so close to beautiful locations for walks and incredible views! The owner Lorraine was lovely and helpful, she should be very proud of what she has achieved.We are already planning our return in Autumn and can’t wait to use the wood burner to get all cosy!

Can't give this place any less than the 5 stars it deserves. Could not fault a single thing about the place, from the quality of everything to the little extras thought of. The cabin was spotless and finished to the highest specification, everything was thought of. The extensive app and welcome guide covered absolutely everything we needed and was fantastic in helping us prepare for, and to make the most of our visit. The site is in a protected area so is beautifully quiet, and sitting the Japanese soak tub watching the bats fly by in the evening was the perfect way to finish a day.Absolutely no doubt we will be back one day. The cabin is expensive, but undoubtedly worth it as a once in a while weekend away to escape busy daily life.I cannot say enough positive things about this place; by far the best accommodation we have ever stayed in.

My wife and I stayed in The Nook for 2 nights and it was fantastic!The cabin comes with everything you could possibly need and is of the highest quality.We especially loved the hot tub, stove fireplace, the incredibly comfy bed and local surroundings.It's the little touches that really make the difference such as the different types of tea, coffee, books/games, oils, bluetooth speaker and torches.If you are after a romantic getaway then this is the perfect place for you!We highly recommend!

What a wonderful stay at the roost. Everything about this stay was enjoyable, peaceful and full of personal touches like our vegan bakes and a welcome message on a blackboard. The room was decorated really well and also very well stocked with all of your essentials you could need. We particularly loved the outdoor soaking tub which I hadn’t experienced before. Highly recommend using it in the evening when it’s dark as makes it even more special. Lorraine is an amazing host and I very much hope I’ll have the opportunity to visit again! Perfect stay, highly recommended.

We have just come back from a lovely long weekend away staying in The Nest at The Roost glamping site. All I can say is wow - what a beautiful and picturesque location. The cabin itself is well decorated, comfortable and well equipped. We particularly loved using the Japanese soak tub. The host - Lorraine was brilliant and communication was clear and made planning the trip easy. The accommodation was perfectly situated to access the Forest of Dean and our two dogs loved also absolutely loved it. We will hopefully back in the near future. It made celebrating my partners 30th birthday a memorable experience. We highly recommend!

We’ve just returned from a lovely long weekend at The Roost. The weather was terrible so it was lovely to get the wood burner on full blast to warm up! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook all our meals in and the bed was very comfy.We took our dog and it was so nice to know the grounds were secure and she was very comfy in her special bed!Highly recommend!

I booked this as a surprise weekend away for my partner’s 30th birthday. We were both blown away with the cabin itself and everything inside it; from the balance of modern, yet homely decor, to the gorgeous and relaxing outdoor Japanese soak tub. Sitting outside the cabin in the wild meadow with a beer star gazing, was an amazing ending to every day (cloud depending, of course!). Every little detail has truly been thought about. All of the personal touches were such a lovely surprise and we felt very lucky to have booked such a peaceful and gorgeous place to spend a long weekend.As someone who has a puddle loving dog, but is also a clean freak, I am always worried about cleanliness of dog friendly accommodation when booking places to stay. However, with The Roost I can honestly say that this place was absolutely immaculate!The cabin itself was also in a perfect location; close to lots of local walks, tourist attractions and some lovely pubs!Overall, we have all (especially the dog) have had such a lovely weekend away and we couldn’t recommend this place highly enough. Lorraine, thank you again, for all of your thought that has gone into these amazing cabins!
