Says one thing on the phone and then does another. Shall find another reliable repairer.

To be told my Grandfather Clock does not need servicing when it has not been done in 30 years and is making grinding noises when wound - clearly shows it is in need of some lubrication, and it even states inside the clock it needs regular maintenance - and then to be told it will be £700 for a complete overhawl, it just taking the piss. So what a waste of time it was inviting Forest Clocks to do what I thought he was in business to do. Maintain clocks. Quoting £700 is a complete joke and I am really not amused at having my time wasted in this manner and just as well he did not charge for wasting his own time as well. Very poor service as it would not have taken him 20 minutes to just lubricate the springs and winding mechanism as that's all it needs, clearly - this is beyond his scope.

Friendly and knowledgeable, took time to explain in detail what was wrong with a grandfather clock, it needed a total strip down/overhaul and one of the mainsprings replacing. It hadn't seen any maintenance for 30 odd years so I had both mainsprings replaced. He also waxed the wooden case. It now looks amazing and works perfectly
