Althorp Estate Car Park

It was a waste of a day. No guides in the rooms didn't know what I was looking at half the time. The only labels was don't touch and don't sit. When looking at the glass cabinet full of pottery. It all look very nice. But would have liked to have known a little bit about it.. how old where it was manufactured. But nothing.. thay had a poor excuse for a cafe. Thay had very little and what thay had got was over priced. The grounds were sparse no gardens not much of anything.... Would I go again!!° NO

Admission rather pricey compared to other historical houses but worth it. Sadly the parking arrangements are not great with a 15 minute walk to the entrance gate and another 10 minute walk to the house.

It is a field, a short walk from the Althorp House. There is a disabled car park closer to the house.

The car park is a field and isn't exactly easy to find, our SatNav gave us directions to the main entrance to Althorp House which is shut to the public! There are no signs giving directions to the car park which is actually nowhere near the main entrance, it's about a mile away from it. You have to drive past the main entrance and follow the road round till you see a sign for Althorp House where you eventually come to a sign that leads you to field which serves as a 'car park' for the property. To add to this, the car park is across the road to the visitors' entrance after which you are faced with a rather lengthy walk to the property.Althorp House is a lovely place to visit but the 'car park' leaves a lot to be desired.

Nice to see princess Diana's resting place. The staff were very accommodating. The estate house. Not great. The paintings looked like the same person regardless of gender or time period. Makes you realise that even the rich were inbred. The bedrooms were the best thing to look at. But full access isn't full access. There is a further 3 floors you can't see. Feels like the rich are making money off the poor to see how they live. I don't get the no photo policy either.

Plenty of space on day we visited although quite a walk up to the house. There is another car park close to the house, probably for those with disabled badge.
