Brilliant instructor, brief lesson on do's and don't, go make sure we were safe and then we got straight out onto the water!Very attentive to the nervous ones in our group and he met us half way round for directions to our end point.Once we reached Arley he greeted us with our train tickets, directions to the pub and train timetables. Without us asking, he was very helpful and professional.

Amazing day on the river. Got all the kit we needed. Basic instruction on paddling and controlling the boat, and a safety briefing on navigating the river. Set off from Bridgnorth and was quickly away from the noise of traffic. Then it was a relaxing trip going with the flow of the river accompanied by the wildlife and occasional steam train passing by. Staff meet us at our halfway point and we’re there waiting for us at Arley to collect the equipment. Fantastic experience, brilliant service and will definitely return for another trip soon.

Definitely recommend! We had great fun canoeing down from Hampton Load to Bewdley - stopped off for a drink and nibble at the pub at Arley, all in all about 4 hours. Monty was great at explaining the route and checking in when we stopped for our break. Thanks!

My friend and I had an excellent day on the River Severn. River Severn Canoes have got all the kit we needed and were extremely helpful. It was great to get some instruction on paddling and controlling the boat, and a safety briefing on navigating the river before setting off on our adventure from Hampton Loade to Arley. It was a windy journey but was relaxing and great fun going with the flow of the river accompanied by the wildlife, fisherman and the occasional steam train passing by.There were a few places to picnic on route but we decided to visit the Arboretum in Arley to have a Ploughman's lunch and enjoy the scenery somemore. The walk back up the River was enjoyable as well and gave us opportunity to take in perhaps somemore of the scenery.Fantastic experience, brilliant service and will definitely return for another trip soon!

A fabulous experience even for novices - a great birthday treat yesterday! We booked a family 2-hour trip from Hampton Loade to Upper Arley, with me and my daughter in one canoe, hubby and son in another. I am 55, a bit porky, with a bad back, and a weak swimmer, so I was a bit worried it was going to be strenuous, uncomfortable, and even scary after the recent wet weather! I was very pleasantly surprised! The canoes were open, quite stable and had comfy raised webbed seats, with room to choose to bend your legs, kneel or sit on the floor. The river levels were quite high but the water was mostly calm and smooth - the flow of the water did most of the work for us, we just had to do a bit of paddling and steering to keep on course avoiding the banks and vegetation. We arrived bone dry, chilled, and were even able to pause rowing on the water to float along while we took photos. We received a good safety briefing and lesson from Simon at the start, belongings safely packed in a waterproof 'barrel' bag, we felt secure in the bouyancy aids, and Simon was ready and waiting to bring us in at the end. We were given instructions about the best way to avoid getting into difficulty around islands / trees and all went smoothly. A lovely stretch of river with swans and ducks, plus sheep and horses on the river banks. The only worry was avoiding the many fishermen's lines - the anglers are often hidden in nooks in the vegetation and their lines are nearly half way across the river without floats, so you have to always be alert to take advance action to avoid them. We chose to walk back, 5 miles along the riverside, with an ice cream at Arley and a pub stop at the Ship at Highley; easy to find the route. No toilet facilities at Hampton as pub closed, just a wooded area! Highly recommended for a family or friends day out!

This is an activity we've been meaning to do for years - two families with teenagers, although I must admit being mainly nervous, and definitely less excited than the teenagers.Monty was brilliant at delivering the serious information in a fun, none alarming way and once we'd done a bit of zig-zagging and going round in circles, the penny dropped and it was simply stunning. Our 3 canoes meandered our way to Arley where we stopped for a picnic, then on to Bewdley. The river was high after all the recent rain, and fast flowing, so minimal rapids, so despite it being the first time we'd canoed, we were on the water at Bridgnorth at 10.30, had an hour stop and stretch at Arley and were into Bewdley at 3.30. It did not feel like 14 miles. It was great to see the guys from River Severn Canoes along the route reminding us of which side to (try and) stick to, and obstacles to avoid etc. It's a workout, when the wind blows, you're quickly heading for the bank without some strong paddling, but it was fantastic fun and we will definitely do again - I really didn't think i'd be saying that!

Great day on the Severn, went for the 2 hour trip as weather was a factor. We were given a safety briefing by the very helpful and reassuring Monty. Shown our canoe and departed down stream. The views and feeling was spectacular and just what was needed to relax and chill out in the fresh air. We took a light lunch and stopped at a gravel beach along the way. A barrel was supplied to keep our belongings dry. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone.

We did the 2 hour trip from Bridgnorth to Hampton Loade, lovely tranquil time. Never been canoeing before and we felt reassured from the talk before on what to do if we get stuck.A heads up to anyone wanting to do this is to be vigil on fishing lines. Quite a few fisherman had their lines out in the middle of the river and didn't rein them in, they were very hard to spot.
