Tesco Extra

I was in your Kingsway Store this morning around 8am and I wanted to take a little time to show my appreciation and gratitude to the two colleagues that helped me, Janice & Lorraine. They helped me locate an item I was looking for as a surprise gift. It may seem small and trivial to some but they do know how much this will bring a smile of joy to my cousin who has been trying to find the Curtis Christmas bedding down South. Anyway thank you ladies I hope you get the recognition you deserve as you both truly know the meaning of Customer Service. Keep up the great work!

What kind of a big tesco has one cash point on the whole building and nothing in their petrol station. The only cash machine was out of order and I was in a rush for an event, a worker told me he would be about 10-15 minutes if I was okay to wait, I waited 20 minutes, he still wasn’t done, made myself late and didn’t even get the cash I needed :(

What an absolute shocker we had today in TESCO EXTRA KINGSWAY DUNDEE. We used the scan and pack to save time and packed as we went. Spending nearly £200 we scanned out and were required to have a check to see if we have scanned all items. We waited some time whilst the employee at the checkout finished moaning about her working conditions/ lunch break with another colleague. When she eventually attended to us she advised that she would have to scan and check 37 items !!!! 37! She then raked through all of our bags which we have meticulously packed dragging random things out of the bottom of each bag and piling them on the small shelf beside the scan and pack tills! Food falling all over the place onto the floor - she kept going until the bags were decimated - nothing in order - literally all of our items lying everywhere !! My husband asked who was going to repack all of the items in a decent order to which she appeared confused although did say that she could help us pack if we really wanted us to ! We asked for a manager to feedback this information and initially had random members of staff approach who were not management. Eventually we had assistance of a shift leader who advised this is TESCO new policy to scan things from the bottom in case anyone is stealing items !! What a policy - I actually felt violated with someone throwing our stuff around. I actually wished I had left the shopping to be honest as this is no way to treat loyal customers who are spending a lot of money in this time of austerity. I’d rather give my cash to another supermarket who values loyal customers. I won’t be back and I urge anyone who is doing a large family shop to avoid scan and pack if you decide TESCO is for you. Very disappointed.

Stopped for fuel back of Midnight, as I was finishing another car arrived, he hopped out and was asking about my car (fairly rare but he had been looking at buying one) 15 seconds later the Tannoy garbles something about Pump 9, I'm the only 1 there and on 10, the poorly trained night gremlin, with the microphone, has another 2 pump 9 announcements about calling the police if they don't leave, there's a cone at the pump, so I move it thinking it's triggering the parked at the pump switch and move it for him. Captain brainless then realizes, I'm on pump 10, I've spoken with the car behind for another 15 seconds and demands I leave or he's calling the police - we are the only 2 in the place, clearly he's cleaning his ears too deeply and should chill before he causes himself permanent brain damage. Management - maybe a course on social skills, and some human I interaction would help the man on the mic be a little more accurate, vocally and communicationally clearer as to which pump he's addressing and what he feels the need to achieve. Maybe start with the smaller numbers till he gets the grip.

staff are always helpful kind, people who work in the cafe are also always kind, helpful and friendly. toilets are disgusting they are that bad that sometimes you can’t even use them.i find that where the coffee machine is it is to close to the papers and magazines and is always dirty at the back and a lot of spilled hot coffee.

Visited the cafe today whilst shopping in Tesco Kingsway Dundee. The girl in the cafe (Ruth) was so pleasant and unfazed at the large queue. She was on her own for a bit but managed to serve lots of people in super quick time. She was smiling and nothing was too much for her. She did great under pressure. I feel like they could have had more staff in the cafe at lunch time but this girl managed and is a credit to the store.

Good sized Tesco, plenty of stuff inside to buy. Their new store lay out looks good. Didn’t have to wait in line before entering and it wasn’t too busy inside. Also nipped to the toilets for a quick penny to spend and they were plenty clean enough without any odd peopl hanging about inside
