The Brewery Car Park
Paid the fee at the machine and then when we arrived at the barrier we were asked to pay again. Totally inept and useless system

Seriously, quickly popping to the shops for 10 minutes..£3!!! No staggering of price, nothing just straight in. 0 min to 2 hours 3 poundsOutrageous parking charge considering a lot of shops rely on click and collect. Won't be doing that again. Compare to liberty, a lot cheaper

Brilliant place to park and the Brewery has so much to offer. A lot of great restaurants there now as well. Great currency exchange bureau (and Western Union services too) along with a great variety of stores. The multi storey car park offers slightly cheaper parking too. Why not park there and visit the Brewery, the Liberty, and explore all that Romford has to offer.

Most recent comment:The new payment system hasn't got any better. In fact it has probably got worse. I was held up for about 10 minutes directly in front of the entrance barrier, along with the other two cars. Then after 1.5 hours, when I went to scan my Sainsbury's receipt at the machine, for free parking, the machine said it didn't recognise my number plate. The security men said that if I go to the gate I can scan there, as it will see my numberplate. Why didn't it see my numberplate as I was entering the car?All 3 exits had the longest queues I had ever seen, nearly filling up all the lanes between the cars. A few minutes later they (i.e. somewhere in the far distant background, as you'll never see any of the parking company employees in the car park sorting out the problems) had to open the gates permamently for a while to get rid of the long queues. Thankfully they did open the gates, as otherwise I would still be there probably!A nightmare, and they would have lost money too, having to open the gates, meaning those that didn't pay at the machine wouldn't have had the opportunity to pay at the gate.My comment 2 weeks ago:The new payment system at the Brewery Car Park is a nightmare, to say the very least. You now have to type your number plate into the payment machine. Also, cash is no longer accepted.I am gutted that today I ended up paying £2.50, rather than £1.00, because I had to queue for 15+ minutes, with lots queuing, and MAINLY DUE TO EVERYONE TAKING AGES TO PAY, with having to type in your number plate. In the grand scheme of things £1.50 extra is not much money, but they should be paying us for the hassle, not us being forced to pay more!....I had given myself 10 minutes for queuing so I ran over 4 hours. And it was pointless trying to pay at the exit within that 10 minutes, because there were long queues of cars.Up until a couple of weeks ago you got a ticket on the way in and before you left you inserted the ticket into a machine in the car park and paid, and there were MANY machines. And then you inserted that ticket at the gate. Easy-peasy!Now, you're not issued with a ticket on the way in. On paying, you type your number plate in, and scan your Sainsbury's receipt if you have one, to get a reduction. And today I just realised that you can pay at the exit gates either. It doesn't take a genius to work out WHY there are long queues everywhere. Typing your number plate in takes far longer than simply inserting a ticket into the machine. And if you chose to pay at the exit, you hold up queuing cars. Before, inserting a (paid) ticket into the machine at the gate didn't delay cars as much. And it doesn't make sense, at all, that there are far fewer machines. There's no machine now near The Range I'm told. And the two machines, side-by-side, on the way to the High Street aren't in use either.Added to that, paying when the sun is shining is a big challenge. You can hardly see what's on the screen. I pitied those new to this. It was hard enough for me to see anything on the screen, even though I had used the system before. Crazy! The creators of these machines are clueless! And a payment system like this for a very, very large car park too!!I thought Councils etc. were trying hard to get people to shop locally. This is a privately owned car park, but still. This parking madness will send drivers away from Romford. It's doing my head in and it's only been two weeks.I go there three times a week for Nuffield gym and Sainsburys. I might be looking around for a new gym soon.

We went to Romford with my 2 young children today and parked at the Brewery car park. Didn’t expect it would cost me £6! After I paid (and queuing up for 10 mins), when we got to the exit machine, it failed to read my car plate! It came up with a different car plate! In the end, my husband had to move our car as there were many cars queuing behind us! I had to walk back to the shopping centre and ask the security guard what I need to do! And I was told I had to press the “help” button on the pay machine! I went to queue up again (long queue), after 5 minutes, my husband told me he finally managed to exit the car park after trying many times! (The machine kept coming up with different car registration numbers!) it was so stressful with 2 young children and in the dark!

Machines were not working, could not use my Sainsbury’s voucher so had to pay 3£ at the exit after queuing up for 10 minutes. Horrible experience which holds me back to go into Romford

Best place to park if youre shopping in brewery, liberty city or mercury shopping centre. Very cheap compared to others and its free on sundays. Maximum charge for a day will be just £10. and if you are shopping in sainsbury , they will make it free for you.

£3 for a 20 mins parking and then another £15 because I lost the ticket. Person on the Helpdesk could easily check my records and help me instead he didn’t even speak and slapped a £15 payment through the machine.
