Springbank Nursing Home
If you are looking for a care home where you can be assured that your relative will be looked after with dignity, professionalism and compassion, then look no further. My mother moved to Springbank last year after her previous home served notice due to an inability to meet her needs, and was cared for there until she sadly passed away in October 2023. We had explored various potential homes, but Springbank stood out for all the right reasons. They made the process of moving homes as smooth as possible despite the transfer taking place at short notice. This was also the case when, earlier this year, my mother-in-law also had notice served on her by her previous home - we immediately knew that Springbank would provide my mother-in-law with the best possible care. The transfer took place from hospital, and despite the discharge being rushed (and during the Easter Bank Holiday), Springbank put us completely at ease, assuring us that they had everything in hand. One of the most important features of Springbank is its dual-registered status, enabling your relative’s care to be seamlessly transferred between residential and nursing as required as opposed to needing to move homes (this is something which we wish we had known about sooner when initially selecting care homes for our loved ones, and we cannot stress enough how vital Springbank’s dual facility is). There are always plenty of staff (including at evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays), all of whom (from housekeeping staff, to carers, to administration and management), are friendly, approachable and professional. Springbank are completely transparent, proactively update you, and involve you in decision-making. We have always felt able to ask questions, and any queries have been answered efficiently. Support is provided to relatives as well as residents, and my family and I have benefited from the guidance and comfort of carers during the difficult process of watching two loved ones progress through the stages of dementia.Springbank have always emphasised that relatives are free to visit their loved ones whenever they wish (even in the evening and at mealtimes). The home has always been spotlessly clean, the food has always looked delicious, and whenever we have been in the lounge area, we have observed varied and interesting activities being held such as live entertainment, board games and bingo. There are multiple lounge areas (upstairs and downstairs) so that residents have access to the facilities and activities offered. The Manager (a trained nurse with specialist qualifications in dementia) is absolutely exceptional, and is completely dedicated to ensuring that all residents receive the best care; she has dealt with any queries efficiently and diligently, and has often answered emails out of hours. We even discovered after my mother had passed away during the early hours of the morning that she had been receiving updates from the night nursing staff overnight. These are just a couple of examples of ways in which the manager has gone above and beyond expectation.Although it is difficult to single out just one aspect, perhaps the best thing about Springbank (setting them apart from other homes we have experienced), is that the staff genuinely care for, and are devoted to, the residents to such a degree that it is as though they are a member of their own family - in the words of a carer who kindly took time out of her busy day to attend my mother’s funeral as a representative of Springbank: “you are part of our family”. Springbank’s family-centred approach was also particularly evident during my mother’s end-of-life care, which was incredibly moving to witness. In essence, compassion, kindness, patience, transparency, professionalism and dignity are at the heart of all that Springbank do. We could not have asked for better care for my mother in her final year.

The end of life care that my mum received was the very best anyone could have, amazing, happy staff. I cannot praise them highly enough, I would give 10 stars if I could

My great aunty Mary lived here for two years. She was treated with dignity, respect and love by the amazing staff who cared for her every day. During her final days, they were truly amazing and ensured that when her time came, she died surrounded by people who loved her. Can't praise the wonderful staff enough.

This is a very caring and also professional care home. All the staff are excellent. They take alot of time to engage with the residents and their families, and they're so open and welcoming. They are always smiling and the atmosphere here is really nice! We saw other care homes when we were searching for a place for our mum, they didn't come even close in friendliness, openness and transparency. You can visit your relative here at any time and nothing is hidden. The food is lovely and plenty of variety. Our mum has been made so welcome and so have we. Highly recommend this place.
