Miller & Swann Veterinary Clinic - Elgin

After my dog having 3 seizures in 24hr and explaining he was still not right, being advised there were no vets available, that i would get a call by 8pm. I called at 4. Within half an hour my dog had another seizure. I did get to come in and was seen by a vet, I cannot fault the vet at all. I felt upset and so worried that another seizure could be detrimental to my dogs health or life. I have always had the upmost respect and admiration for the practice but lately the practice has become a disaster if I am honest. I do appreciate lack of vets and covid and pet boom has caused many issues, however I am not hearing the amount of concern about any other practice as there is about this one at the moment.Since this review, I have seen a difference in the practice, and sadly 1 of my other dogs has had an issue with her eye. The surgery were very responsive, very helpful and it felt like it used to be. Like your pet and you mattered.They quickly had a referral in place to a eye specialist and sadly it was a tumour, her eye has since been removed and the follow up care has been brilliant.I know like most, my pets mean the world to me. But I do know when something is wrong. I just want to take a moment to say a huge thank you for being so kind and caring and helping to get my girl seen very quickly.I am glad that you could help and I want you to all know how much that is appreciated by myself and my husband. Also the crazy gang too.

We cannot thank the staff enough for their empathy towards my daughter who sadly had to put her hamster to sleep, she received a beautiful card ( receptionist bought herself) with her hamsters paw & nose print inside, my little girl was so so greatful. Very quick appointment and lovely caring service. Thank you

Took my daughters pup to vets very good. Be prepared to pay though.

Told my dog might need palliative care and they would ring later. That was 2 days ago. Vets good after care very poor. They've lost all their regular vets recently so clearly a problem with the practice. As a follow up - one of the vets realised the situation and contacted me. Mary was brilliant with both of my dogs. As a result it will only be her I see in future. Hopefully she will stay with the practice a long time.

I couldn't recommend Miller & Swann more. They've looked after my dogs well and have always squeezed them in for urgent issues. Lovely staff too!

I changed vet practice. My first encounter was the incredibly empathic vet Mary.My beloved dog had cancer. I was always treated with complete empathy from the girls on desk..especially Ash and Louise when I phoned in tears about my dog progressing through her transition.

Vets and receptionists are lovely.It was just so expensive,probably the same as any other vet.

They are very good nice and friendly and feel like they are very interested in your pet like it was one of their own, been going here for a lot of years and can't fault them

Have been with this practice over 20 years, with multiple pets, but clearly there's an issue with them as my pet is not perfect. She's an anxious dog and nervous therefore needs an understanding and time.We are not made to feel welcome at all and it's obviously an issue with them that she is the way she is.Some reception staff are fine, polite and helpful, but others are not. This is a problem. The last vet I saw with her was a new vet and was actually really good with her although she wasn't weighed which is now causing an issue with getting her tick and flea and worming meds. I am getting fed up with the attitude of some reception staff and find them increasingly impossible to deal with. Could be time for a change of vets, somewhere that welcomes you and your pet. And not made to feel like a bad owner.
