Went here for a belated Valentines meal. Sat by the fire before dinner with a glass of something nice. The decor is lovely and the tables are spaced nicely apart. The staff were attentive but didn't rush us. The food was very good and generous portion. We had no room for dessert.Overall a very pleasant evening.

The Bell is so nicely situated, especially in summer, it is a great place to safely take the kids paddling or swimming. Then you can pop in for a meal and a drink. I have never stayed overnight as we live so close, but the staff are very friendly and helpful, so I would expect the same level of service in the hotel as the restaurant and bar. A small word of advice, because the river can overflow, if there is a lot of rain, it does flood there. The Bell has put in measures to stop the water entering the place, but best always to check the weather before a visit.

Nice meal, very quiet on a weekday lunchtime. Fabulous location. Visited the church and castle after lunch.

Fantastic venue with peerless food, excellent customer service and a stunning location next to a picturesque river and a 13th Century castle. Some of my family and I stopped there for the weekend, and were thrilled with The Bell. Will definitely be back there again.

We stayed here after walking the three castle walk. What a lovely place! Staff were so helpful, food was delicious and rooms really nice. It was an amazing place to come back to after a long day of walking. Its location by the river and castle are also stunning. One very small thing - the mattresses weren't the most comfortable - quite hard. Even just putting on a mattress topper on the beds would make it much more comfortable. Small thing though, other than that the stay was amazing. Thank you so much!

We stayed two nights and felt the place was in a good location. There is a castle, walking trails and a river next to the hotel. It was a great place to relax. We have stayed all over the UK and in several countries. I think the Bell has had the best service by far. Maria who served us went above and beyond. She organized a small cheese/meat board as we had a late arrival and checked in on us during our stay. The food was really amazing (+vegetarian options). Definitely worth the visit!

Gorgeous place with warm service and excellent food. Glad I called as well as booking online, because the website allowed me to book two twin rooms when only one was actually available, but happily when I called to book dinner and checked on the room booking Maria was able to reorganise rooms.

We spent a weekend there for a friend's wedding. The place is really nice in a fantastic location, and our room was incredible. It's pricey though, so be prepared. We had dinner and were really surprised. From our personal point of view, the quality of the food does not justify those prices. In fact, we wouldn't eat there again. It's not worth it.Finally, and although we understand they're short of staff, the service is quite frankly not very welcoming or at the level you expect from a place like that, and it's the main reason we give it 3 stars: The reception is normally empty. Difficult to find anyone there. You ask for a cab and they tell you to check it online. They come to ask if we're ready to order during breakfast, we say we need more time and the woman looks at the ceiling and turns around without saying anything (That was awkward).Overall, a very good place to stay, but we'd say that if you want to charge that money you need to offer a bit more.
