Grand Escape

Awesome! We did the Mayan room and finished it in 36 minutes which put us on the leaderboard. Your mileage may vary depending on the room and your own skills.Our game master Saffron was lovely, she was very helpful and friendly, they were great in explaining everything.

Very underwhelming. Unfortunately our host didn't engage with us at all apart from the bare minimum, despite our efforts to inject some enthusiasm into him. We didn't get an introduction into the theme of the room, instead of hints we got given answers and there was no debrief afterwards, so it just felt very mediocre. It's a shame as the room was ok (hence the 2 stars) and we would've definitely come back to play the others, but with other escape room options in Birmingham, we'll likely go elsewhere.

Sadly, this is the first escape room experience out of many we have had, where the whole team felt underwhelmed despite escaping in a very good time. The puzzles were for the most part, a tactile endeavour, which was nice, with lots of different parts to move around. However, we had completed many of these puzzles accidently, as they were quite simple. Many of the puzzles could just be worked out by changing the order of the components a few times. In addition, some of the puzzle pieces were broken, with cables exposed, which further removes the immersion into the room.The escape room experiences that we have found most enjoyable, require some logic and challenge to solve, and when completing them you feel very satisfied as you have managed to gather all of the correct information, and use it in the correct manner. You do not really get that here.An authentic escape room experience relies heavily on the immersion that the employees and the rooms bring, as it can make the whole process feel more real. The games master did not do any exposition for the room, other than saying Find the diamond"

Took my niece and nephews for a day out to try something different and Grand Escape did not disappoint. We were well looked after by Saffron who explained everything clearly and was just very pleasant to talk to. We did the Mayan Temple which is very kid friendly, they found it a little too easy so will be stepping it up a level next time we visit.

What an amazing experience. As soon as we entered the building the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Our game master Luke was nothing short of amazing! He was so kind and encouraging and all round nice guy. The Holy Grail room was fun, exciting, challenging and fully immersive, suitable for all ages and groups! We cannot wait to return to Grand Escape again and try many of the other amazing rooms they have on offer!!

Had a great time today in Room 1409. Thankfully wasn’t too scary, but the puzzles did tax us! Luke was great and explained everything well.Without spoiling anything there was a good variety of puzzles and everything worked as intended.Might come back with a less experienced team to do other rooms as everything was a great and we had a quality afternoon out.

We did the Holy Grail escape room. Overall we felt others we've done were better quality. The clues were hard to read in dim light trying to look at tiny numbers on things which looked pretty bashed up. (Trying not to spoil clues) this cost us a lot of time.It seemed as though some of the doors didn't work properly either when we pushed the buttons to pop the door nothing happened, we had to physically pull it open after asking for hints which cost us a lot of time as well.Done better in other places.

Warmly welcomed by our game masters Amy and Saffron, we were given a good briefing before entering the room. We chose the Holy Grail room which was great fun but challenging. We didn’t escape in time but we had great fun. The venue is close to Brindleyplace, so plenty of choice to eat/drink before or after. Reasonably priced. Close to bus stops and tram and a short walk from Five Ways station.
