The vegan meatless pie was delicious. The chips were a bit too much batter and not enough potato. They need a lot more vegan/plant-based options on the menu - a plant-based fish alternative would be a good start

We came in for chips and gravy. The staff very helpful and friendly and we walked out with fish, quid rings and skampi and our chips and gravy for a very reduced price. Good was fantastic as well. Proper chips..

Was charged £4.90 for a 'regular' chips and gravy.Thought they'd overcharged me by mistake.Turns out I wasn't overcharged. £3.10 for the chips, plus an extra £1.80 for the gravy!!!I appreciate that the cost of everything has shot up; but £1.80 for a ladles-worth of gravy - not a carton - but a ladle is outrageous!And the person that served me kept coughing over the chips as they removed them from the fryers.All in all, it wasn't even that nice.Sorry guys, but I won't be coming back.My response to the owner's response:I saw the lunchtime specials menu, and good value it looked. But on this occasion I only wanted 'regular' chips and gravy.You will never convince me, or any sensible person, that £1.80 for a 'regular' scoop of gravy is good value.I'm guessing that's why you're able to sell your small fish; pies and chicken bites so cheaply during lunchtime.

I've been going through a very emotional time during the past few weeks, and Matt asked about me while I was waiting for my order. That meant a lot to me, and I mean a lot. The meal was prepared to perfection, and I enjoyed it. It made me a tad bit relieved, thank you. :'-) I'll be back again. Best enjoyed with HP sauce.

I just experienced a flavour explosion that left my taste buds doing the salsa! Those sausages and chips were so good, they could make the Mona Lisa crack a smile. And let's not forget the superhero waitress who was doing double duty - serving up both food and conversation with a side of charm! I hope she gets some well-deserved rest, but not before savouring her own scrumptious creations. A hidden gem indeed!

I travelled all the way from Taiwan on a short business trip with only one thing on my mind. Fish and chips from this place. Despite bit being late in the day, the owner and his assistant were only too happy to cook me a fresh portion. Well worth the trip.

I've tried all the local fish and chip shops and this one is for me the best. They always cook the fish to order which is a massive plus point. Fish is always very well cooked. Staff are mega friendly. And it just has a nice old school vibe.

They have a great lunchtime special, and I can confirm after losing count of the number I've had, it's still as good as ever.Food has always been good quality and the staff are amazing, friendly and great conversation.Always got delivery drivers in there so they must be doing something good.Keep it up
