Shire finished our new patio in February. It needed a lot of earth moving, and retaining walls. They also laid a power cable. We’ve managed to use it more and more, as the weather has improved - and it’s clear their work was terrific. They were also an excellent team - hard working, tidy, responsive, and good to have around. And very fair, clear, and consistent on the price. We can’t recommend them highly enough. Excellent....

Very happy with the work done by Tom and his team. Turned our grubby care home parking area into a smooth shiny asphalt driveway. Would highly recommend.

Our original review has been removed.Here again is our updated review.After excavating front area of property garden and original drive and laying edging stones and drainage channel in November 2021 we employed Tom of Shire Paving to lay tarmac driveway. The work was carried out later than we had agreed causing disruption to our tenants and with obvious issues, stated below.The edges were higher than edging stones and drainage channel there was an obvious join line from front to back and water was ponding after rainfall in the centre of driveway.Tom eventually after several emails and telephone calls returned and agreed the work could have been done better.All 2022 has been spent trying to arrange with Tom for the issues raised to be rectified. The only time we have had a response is when we informed him we had contacted trading standards and when we put our original review on here.11 months after driveway was completed Tom did return and cut the tarmac around the edges in preparation to lay a new top coat. Once again the work was not completed in arranged timescale and after seeking advice from tarmac companies the solution Tom was attempting to carry out we were informed would not be a professional solution as this thin coat would eventually break up.We have rectified the edging ourselves and are going to have to live with the join line and ponding issues.At present over a year since the work was completed we are seeking costs for materials and debris removal from Shire Paving following advice from trading standards with court proceedings our last resort.I hope you bear in mind our problems with this company when you are making plans for your new driveway.
