The Hummingbird Bakery - Victoria

Was recommended by a friend. Amazing lemon raspberry cake.

We came across the Hummingbird bakery by chance. We tried the Hazelnut cupcake. Nothing amazing but it was good. Tasted more like a regular chocolate cupcake except for the Hazelnut filling. The service is good. They also have ice creams. It's a nice stop to snack while exploring the place. They do have a couple of tables outside and a few inside the shop as well.

I placed an order for several cupcakes and one large cake with Hummingbird Bakery in Victoria. The look alone was fantastic and the smell when the box was opened was great. The best was yet to come, as the taste delighted my guests most of all. I am so pleased I decided to go here and I will definitely be making more orders in the future!

I was craving a good slice of cake and coffee on one of my days out and was not up for experimenting in a new bakery. Hummingbird is an old time favourite and I decided to walk to this store just to build up the appetite for their generous portions of cake. The store is clean and spacious though it appeared to be designed to cater to the office goers and tourists wanting to grab something and rush out to catch their train or coach. Limited seating space along one of the walls and a decent display of cupcakes and cakes. They had an offer where you get a cup of coffee for £1 with a slice of cake so it was a good deal for me. Got the lemon and raspberry cake slice with a coffee to have there. To my surprise, the cake was dry inside and the syrup was trying it's best to keep it moist but failed. There were parts which literally looked and tasted like cardboard. I gave them the benefit of doubt and got a slice each of my favourite hummingbird cake, the mile high salted caramel cake and the red velvet to take away. The salted caramel cake was ruined by the huge chunks of salt that hit me when I was savoring the cake. The red velvet cake was dry and by this time, I was half expecting it. Thoroughly disappointed by the goods in this store and hope it's not a reflection of the cakes hummingbird do in other places.

Red velvet cupcake was good. I would prefer less sugar though, but Hummingbird Bakery is iconic nonetheless.

I have been going hummingbird for years but since moving out of London I have not been for a while. I recently pop down there as a treat for a friend’s birthday. I did not placed an order in advance. Luckily they had cake in store. Customer service was excellent, cake was nice as always.

The atmosphere and location is great, so I was intrigued to come in for coffee and cake. I tried two different cupcakes which were served on napkins. My coffee also came in a take-away cup although I let them know I was taking a seat. Unfortunately, the display didn't match the taste. The cupcakes all look amazing but they are quite dense and it's sweetness overload which is a shame really because the shop has a lot of potential. Eating in, I also found it annoying that the door wouldn't close automatically and nobody bothered to close it, including the waitresses (5 degrees outside). Pretty underwhelmed.

Purchased a slice of rainbow cake, vanilla frosting cupcake, 1 cookie cream cupcake and 2 red velvet cupcakes.Rainbow cake and vanilla cupcake was very disappointing. It was not fresh and tasted stale. Looking at the layers of sponges it seems like it wasn’t fully cook neither . The sponges was dry and hard. Icing was dry and hard. Didn’t taste fresh at all. It seemed like the cakes had been made few days ago.I’ve had cakes from Hummingbird before and must say this time round it was very disappointing.Red velvet and cookies and cream were good, those didn’t taste stale.Reached out to the customer services and they resolved the issue. Custermer service was excellent with a quick response.

Small and charming bakery near Victoria Station. Love the focused menu: cupcakes, cakes, classic brownies and cookies, and drinks. Red velvet ice cream was delicious, no toppings needed.

Where to start!I ordered a cake and some cookies from here, randomly and quite last minute for a birthday. I got very lucky, as my main motivation was that they did red velvet cake and it was reasonably close to my destination for easy collection.I made the best choice by accident honestly. The cake was beautiful and super tasty, the cookies were amazing. Such a great size and obviously fresh. The cafe was super clean and everything looked brilliant. The lady that served me was very nice.If I ever need another cake, I’d definitely be back again :) it was really hard to not buy more cookies whilst collecting mine!
