Ordered a Barbour jacket through their website on 27 November during Black Friday 2022 and it was shipped out the following day. Really pleased with my purchase and it was a very competitive price compared to other online retailers.I would definitely purchase online from this store again.

Ordered on Friday by midday and just used the standard postage service, and it arrived by midday on Saturday. Also the Barbour jacket ordered is excellent and about £100 cheaper than on Barbours own website. Thank you.

This shop is fine to purchase at, but not refund! My partner had purchased a pair of Chatham's for myself, and was made aware at the time that if these weren't suitable - he would be able to change these the following day. I had asked for a different size, of which they did not have any on the shop floor. The man refused to look out the back for me, nor give me a refund. Whilst leaving me there, when he made himself look busy by ignoring me. Absolutely awful customer service. Now I am stuck with a £90 pair of shoes that do not fit. Not being from the area, nor not being aware when making a purchase that they do not offer refunds - I would avoid making a purchase unless you are 100% sure of an item. Not a place I would visit again when we return to the lakes.

Great shop for good variety of outdoor clothing. Not the usual row after row of kagools like the typical Lakes outdoor shop this has a better quality range of jackets, hats and boots.

I ordered a couple of Barbour coats and they came the next day. Sadly they didn't fit (Barbour sizing is a minefield, regardless of how many blogs/videos you trawl through!) so I sent them back. My refund was processed with no quibble the next day.

Ordered Wednesday and it arrived the next day with free delivery. Very impressive.

Poor returns policy for items purchased in store. I purchased a coat in store on the 23rd December for my elderly mother for Christmas. The coat unfortunately was far too long in the sleeves and length. Following my return of the coat by post to the store I subsequently recieved a credit note and short letter advising me items purchased in store were not eligible for refunds and credit notes or exchanges would be offered instead. I am dissappointed this was not made clear to me when purchasing the coat as they were aware it was purchased as a gift for my mother. Perhaps the store has a notice up advising customers of this but I did not see it and neither did any of three staff who chatted with us that day make their returns policy known to me. I am now only too aware that stores do not have to offer refunds for unwanted or returned goods unless faulty and so the store is well within its returns policy rights not to offer me a refund. However, full refund returns policies are gestures of goodwill which reinforce good customer and retailer relations which encourage people to purchase from a store again. It is common in most good retail stores to offer refunds within a given period and it is especially important for struggling high street stores and small retailers to do so. Moreover, high street retail shops and small businesses have to compete with competitors and online stores and so having a good returns policy is vital for future business. I personally will not shop at this store again. Such poor instore returns policy is uncommon in companies who pride themselves on good customer service..
