Slightly off the beaten track but not far off the A19 and well worth seeking out. The home cooked food is delicious. Two real ales on hand pulls. The young lady serving was friendly and efficient.

Very busy for Sunday lunch, make sure to ring ahead and book a table we had the 3 x course meal between the two of us Brie starter, traditional roast beef and desserts to finish up, it was bl**dy lovely to say the least, we were well looked after by staff, noticed tables were in demand filling quickly after each group left and new sat down... The pictures speak for themselves.

Very friendly staff and good service. We were there for a largish family celebration. Everyone enjoyed themselves and the Sunday lunch. Food was very plentiful. Lovely atmosphere. Very helpful with special dietary needs. Lots of parking.

Nice location and a relatively quiet setting.The food was a bit on the expensive side for what it was, around £15 for fish and chips. The fish was quite small and the batter had a small pool of oil under it on the plate. The portion of chips came on a side plate and we both expected more.We'd go back for a drink bit would pass on eating there in the future.

My wife and I , our 3 kids + partners and my 5 granddaughters (11 yrs down to 6 months) went to the Carlton Inn having given only 5 minutes notice.The staff kindly sorted out a large table for all of us in a cozy room . Despite the chaos of our brood the staff were nothing but patient and pleasant.The food was excellent , it was the Sunday dinner menu which some of our fussy little ones didn't want ,so despite not being on the menu the staff kindly gave the kids some alternatives.Highly recommended, staff and food were too notch.

Friendly efficient staff good atmosphere with comfortable surroundings. Good choice of food for all our party. One member had special diatry needs this was not a problem for the chef. A great experience for everyone.

Glad to call back at the Carlton, it's been a few years. The place was rather quiet so the atmosphere was a bit sub-quorum. Overall the food was good (fish slightly under) but the presentation was excellent. Service was great.

Found this little place just off the A19, the food was brilliant, staff and locals made us feel very welcome! Will definitely visit again if in the area

Sunday lunch was nice. Roast potatoes tasted recooked skin was chewy and beef tasty but some peices too rare for me. Partner loved it all. Pudding creme brulee was heaven and partner had sticky toffee pud, too sweet for me, so raspberry crumble and shortbread that came with my creme brulee was just heavenly. The young man who served us was very attentive and had excellent customer service skills. Pleasant decor and lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend a trip here while your on your holiday or visiting the area. 10/10 for experience and 8/10 for the food would be a fair assessment,this mainly boils down to personal preference.
