Berry House Vets

After being a customer for many years, when we needed to rely on them earlier this year when our cat caught an infection, we had a really hard time.Issues included seeing our cat's age (she is an older lady) and jumping to the conclusion that she had to be put down (despite having a good quality to life before her acute illness and before they had done any assessment); never being seen by the same vet which meant we were often given conflicting advice and often repeating tests and treatment which wasted time and money; pretty much every appointment being late; and a feeling in these last few appointments that did not inspire confidence as a customer.I am grateful my cat seems to have recovered despite still not knowing for sure what caused her illness (despite numerous tests), but I have had to take the decision to move elsewhere as the previous had really made me lose faith in them. Even when I took a call today to confirm that they could share my cat's details with our new practice, the attitude was really poor and unprofessional.The whole experience has left me disappointed.

Had a great experience here at Berry Vets. I’ve been registered with a few different vet practices and had a few veterinarians and they have never been as good as the vet I had here at Berry Vets. Absolutely gutted I didn’t catch her name. She explained everything to me in detail and made me aware of different steps I could follow and gave me her opinion on what she thinks would be the best thing to do for my pet.Me and my dog both left there feeling positive and good! Which is a rare occurrence and my pup is extremely sensitive and scared when visiting vets.

Welfare of your pets is their priority in a highly professional and caring manner. Clinical excellence over many years with many of our family pet and working dogs. Good facilities and communication for treatments at this Hitchin practice.

Money drivenCame here last month my cat at home had collapsed rush him to the vets, first words without actual tests was put him down which was so saddening to hear they were telling me he had kidney disease and he wasn’t going to make it before any tests were done and if I had listened to them I would have lost my three year old cat which kidney disease is super rare in younger cats I was sent to 2 different vets and berry house charged me £600 for a misdiagnosis and sent to another vets for them to tell me berry house was wrong to send me to them so I had to go to Dave’s and charged £400 for my pet being there for maybe 2 hrs and I am saddened that they focus more on profit than saving the animals in their care, overall I thank my cats safe return to Daves vets who informed me berry’s house had misdiagnosed him and he had an infection that was treatable. After all this they tried to charge me £400 for antibiotics for people who are struggling with the cost of living this is so much money and to sort it out daves went above and beyond to help me by helping find the same ones for £60. After placing my complaints they decided to reply once and after I replied have ignored me which is terrible customer service. I have never had a problem with berry house since this incident and this has made me lose faith in their service.

Ruby always wags her tail when we’re going into the Berry House!! The staff are friendly and efficient. We can always get appointments to suit and never have to wait long. The vets are kind and competent. We have always had great service here.

Our preferred choice for the last 9 years. We have had excellent support from Berry House Vets for our last three cats. We can rely on them to see our pets quickly in case of an issue, and overnight stay have worked very well. Highly recommended.

In my opinion Berry House have the best vets in Hitchin. The whole practise is excellent - reception, vets, and after care are all great.I would totally recommend them to anyone who needs a vet to look after their pet.
