Vision Express Opticians - Bishop Auckland

The staff at Vision Express, Bishop Auckland were very helpful, friendly, efficient and knowledgeable.The only complaint I have is from the amount of text messages I am receiving from the company. I only ordered glasses 2 days ago and already I have received 4 text messages telling me I can track the progress of my order - very annoying - 1 message is sufficient.

Took my boys for their eye tests this evening, after relocating twice, this is our third opticians and it's the best by far, lovely staff, absolutely brilliant optician (William I believe), he was so funny and fantastic with the kids! I'm not sure we can wait a whole year to see him again haha x

Excellent customer service from Roxanne I think her name was. She really helped me find frames and I didn't feel rushed at all. Great products, I orderd clear and polarized varifocals, which I love and the prescription is spot on. Thanks, Nigel. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

this was my first time coming to vision express, i was feeling anxious about my appointment as i didn't know what to expect. when i arrived at the Bishop Auckland store, i was greeted and taken to do the first part of the appointment. Ryan stoke to me and took his time to explain what would happen during my appointment, and assured me that i would be okay as we discussed that i was feeling nervous. Then Vicky did the next part of my appointment, she also took her time to everything to me. Then for the last part of my appointment, Jean helped me choose a pair of glasses. She didn't rush me or pressure me into making a quick decision, she really took her time and helped me decide. my appointment was a few days ago now, but i still keep thinking about how lovely the members of staff were in the Bishop Auckland store. Thank you so much

I decided to give Vision Express a go, given my awful experience with Specsavers last year. The staff were great, the right mix of friendly and professional. The eye test was very thorough, and they didn’t charge extra for the photography, which Specsavers do. I wasn’t pressurised into buying (again, Specsavers do). I will certainly be using Vision Express again.

Great front of store staff! Great range of glasses! Terrible experience with optician.After explaining my complicated eye history and how much my vision has deteriorated to the optician he tried multiple lenses. After a short time he became visibly irritated by my complex needs and soon became abrupt with conversations heated on his part. Although he pointed out that on occasion I had contradicting opinions on the lenses he used I explained that was because no lens he had used had improved my ability to see but some had improved the clarity. He began trying lenses again and after trying out two lenses sent me off with a prescription. I am not confident that the prescription he gave me is going to suit my needs (especially given that the lens he had me try didn’t improve my vision there and then) but rather that he gave me something to end the appointment as quickly as possible. I have attended specsavers for years but due to a healthy colleague discount at work I decided to give vision express a try.I have not yet received the glasses so I can’t comment on this part of the process however I will be paying close attention to if the prescription is even right for me. After my experience with the optician I have no trust that what I will receive is what I need.

Branch Review: I had an excellent eye test session with the team, and the staff were extremely pleasant to deal with. Really quick delivery for the glasses. I had issues reddening my corporate voucher, but after a call into the branch, Jennifer resolved the issue and applied the voucher successfully. Bravo to the branch for the excellent service.Product Review: When compared to Specsavers, Vision Express really needs to improve their offerings and be more competitive. For £1 less than the £166 I paid to Vision Express, I could get 2 pairs of modern-designed glasses from Specsavers, including the Advance Test and Transitions Added to the Lens. The offerings are really poor, and this will definitely be my last visit to Vision Express. I will be using Specsavers going forward for value for money.

Everyone in the team were very helpfull, especially the manager when i was having difficulty adapting to my new varifocalsMy experience up to now has been positive.The 100 day exchange or refund is also reasuaring especially if i can't get used to my new varifocals

i visited vision express at bishop aucland and had an eye test needed two prescriptions and ordered three pairs of glasses one pair being an expensive set of prescription safety glasses. was told the safety specs woult take a week to come but in fact turned into five weeks to come.a few weeks after recieving my safety glasses the nose pad became detached and lost took them back to the store and was told they would have to be sent away as they could not touch them which would be another three weeks to get them back. from a company who are supposed to have their own optical labs i find this very strange that it would take this long to clip a new pad on to the glasses.very poor aftercare service seems as soon as they have your money they are not interested anymore.i would never recomend that anyone uses vision express especially the store at bishop auckland very unhelpful and i will never use them again very poor service from a company who portray themselves as a company dedicated to your eyecare.seems they are only interested in how much money they can make. i would recomend people avoid this company and find somewhere who have more interest in the care of your eyes rather than how much profit they can make

Disgraceful service. As soon as I said I didn't want to contribute to prescription glasses, the staff were very uninterested and talking amongst themselves.You should be ashamed, and I certainly won't come back!!
