Cynefin Retreats

Truly blissful. An amazing concept, amazing location and the quality of the lodge was just wonderful. The view, the bath, the hot tub, the bedding! It really is special. We will most definitely be returning.

Our stay at Cynefin Retreats was everything we wanted post wedding.My husband and I found about this place through Canopy and Stars and everything we saw online is exactly what we got. Check-in was straightforward and the pod was already set to a nice temperature when we arrived; it felt very homey. Inside the pod and the surrounding areas was very clean and kept to a very good standard.There are guides and leaflets of things to do in the area and a decent sized Co-op is about 10 minutes drive away.We had booked for two nights initially but on the second day, we felt like we wanted to spend another day in the serene environment. So we booked another night in the Holly pod and it was worth it. We enjoyed the hot tub and fireplace and firepit more. We had pretty good weather throughout our stay, but on the last day, the sun really came out and it was just blissful.My most memorable moment of the stay is awakening from a nap whilst tucked up on the sofa, as the sun set and the fireplace crackled away.Would love to come back and would highly recommend!

We had a lovely time in one of the gorgeous lodges, everything was finished to a really nice standard and we had all that we needed. The hot tub was perfect way to relax on New Years day. Toasting marshmallows on the fire pit and the woodland walk were great to get us outside and we with the kids too.Thanks Cynefin, we hope to be back xx

We had an amazing stay here, it’s a perfect spot to unwind and visit the local sights. The lodges are beautifully equipped and the hot tub was brilliant.

We spent 3 very peaceful days here at Chestnut Lodge in June 2023. We absolutely loved it - in particular my young son was entranced by the birdsong, the trees, and at night the glorious stars. The feeling cannot be described, it must be experienced. The location is amazingly convenient, truly less than 10 minutes from Hay-on-Wye.This idyll was practically perfect in every way , but if one were to try to improve it I have one suggestion: even with all the windows open , the upstairs was too warm (this was the week of 25deg heat and thunderstorms) . So I think a fan in the upstairs rooms would be very useful.Highly recommended for those seeking to reset and refresh their minds.

A little place of peace and tranquility!So cleverly designed and provided complete privacy from the neighbouring lodges!!Excellent quality in the decor and appliances and absolutely everything you could need for a self catering stay!Beautiful location near to Hay on Wye, try visit during the 1st Saturday of the month to take full advantage of the local market!Exceptionally clean lodges and maintained to a thoroughly high standard!Incredibly dog friendly!10/10 would recommend!! Really lovely place to spend a weekend. Close to Hay on Wye and only 10Min walk from river. Very well equipped, comfortable beds and linen.This is on working cattle farm, on a hot summer weekend there were a few flies and other insects around, not enough to bother me but visitors need to accept you are in the country.

Lovely little cabin with hot tub in a glorious part of the world. They even have a tailor made woodland area for you to stroll.Private, tasteful, modern, panoramic, relaxing, chillaxing, log fire burner-esque. My only suggestion would be more and bigger softer towels to make that midnight naked dip in the tub easier to step out of!

Beautiful cabins, felt very relaxed and secluded. Absolutely everything you need for a relaxed stay and some really lovely additional touches to make it extra special. Hot tub ready to go at any time with no fuss and dog felt right at home. Would definitely stay again.

I booked a Luxe Lodge as a surprise for my wife on our first anniversary. We were both blown away by what the place has to offer. We have stayed in a LOT of places over the years and Cynefin has to be put right near the top. It's so well thought, the location is beautiful and secluded. It's just brilliant. Book it. We will be coming back for sure
