We were only here for the night staying in air bnb… they don’t like catering for people who don’t book, despite trying to call them for a few hrs… we were told that “well when we’re busy we can’t answer the phone and maybe you should’ve booked in advance, if we can accommodate you we will if not so sorry” about the most insincere apology I’ve ever encountered… however, they did give us a table, the other side of the border, and let us have a burger even though everyone else was choosing from a menu… we didn’t have any table service like everyone else seemed to have…. So all in all not a great experience… if we had of booked in advance and been seated the right side then it seemed that you were treated like kings! Discriminated for not booking in advance!

WowWe went for the tasting menu and music night and simply stunning.The food was superb. The music was fantastic and the volume was at the right level so it was audible but not loud so you couldn't hear yourselves speak. The service was really top drawer. We had Louise hosting our table and she was attentive to detail, took the time to explain the dishes to us and focused on when glasses needing filling, bringing water to the table and was generally very helpful.Highly recommend it.

Our favourite pub ever! We had our wedding reception at the Half Moon last summer for 120 people....Gavin, Louise and the team worked tirelessly to make the day perfect, and the food was so special. They were really flexible and delivered on everything we wanted for the day. We couldn't recommend more highly.We just went back for our 1 year anniversary and the food and service was just as amazing as we remembered it.

The food was excellent, no complaints there. The service however was appalling. Turned up just before 2pm for our reservation, we are then made to wait 40 minutes for a table without any real interaction for a good 30mins, no apology and no offer of free drinks for the inconvenience. Then proceed to charge the full service fee without batting an eyelid. If that's what they think good service is they need a reality check. Spoilt some great food.

Ok last time we went there was a staff shortage. They have totally smashed it this time. The lovely maitre de was wonderful. Service was excellent. Staff as good as the food. Presentation excellent. Not cheapest place around but didn’t mind paying. Not disappointed. Well dine
