Mill Cafe
The Cafe at the Fountains Abbey National Trust site. Convenient and comfortable. Food was only so-so. Seemed like they were more focused on being healthy and environmentally friendly. And NOT cheap.

The Mill Cafe is attached to the National Trust managed Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal Water Garden.Fountains Abbey, is a historical site in North Yorkshire, near Rippon. It is a ruined Cistercian monastery and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The abbey's picturesque ruins and surrounding landscape make it a popular tourist destination. The Cafe offers a standard offering of coffee, cakes, scones and light main courses. There is also an gift shop and free car park onsite

Food ok but a bit limited and seems to be prepared and kept warm. Have a dog friendly half to the restaurant but ask that dogs are kept from the food serving area but sadly some people don't respect this and if it persist then dogs may be banned altogether.

Best cheese scone I've had in years. Service & staff were excellent. Reasonably priced. Will definitely return when next in the area

Mill Cafe
Dreadful service was left standing at the counter waiting for a scone. Turned out I think I was meant to help myself but nobody bothered to tell me.When it did eventually arrive it was more like a rock cake you could have broken a tooth on.Wouldn't bother wasting £5.30 on it cup of tea and a scone which I was told in no uncertain terms that afternoon tea is Not available despite there being an example of one on display as you entered the restaurant.Very disappointed.

This was a really nice National Trust cafe, it was large with lots of seating inside. There was lots of choice of cakes including vegan options. Service was quick and efficient.

Dog friendly that was a bonus for us !! a little on expensive side but as is the case with all national trust cafes.

I am really disappointed with the fact the the Victoria sponge cake and the ham sandwich were loaded with margarine instead of butter. I think it's really unacceptable to sell a sandwich for nearly £4 and instead of making it with butter they make it with Margarine i felt really disrespected as a customer . And the cake as well it was loaded with so much margarine it was literally inedible. If I just knew there was margarine in any of their food I would never set my foot there ,now I know . !!! CHEAPSKATES !!!

We stopped just for food and a quick walk around as we were taking a break on a journey. This was very nice. Not our first visit and not our last .
