About the Business

The Amnesty Bookshops | Amnesty International UK | Welcome to our second-hand bookshops, where the emphasis is on quality, value-for-money, and building community spirit. Few people know that the first Amnesty ‘Bookshop’ began as a stall based in the Hammersmith & City Line tube station, run by Amnesty members Dick Langton and Christine Pain to raise funds for local campaigns. We have come a long way since then, and today there are ten second-hand bookshops around the country, each with its own unique personality.

Good bookshop, really well sorted, managed to find some great Sociology books. Best part about the visit was definitely the lovely staff, had a nice chat with them! I also love that they have some spaces for reading, if I'd live closer, I'd be there more often :)Can recommend!

This is an excellent bookshop and I love to go in and browse on my day off or whenever Im passing. I discovered their branch in York a few weeks ago quite by accident Im so pleased they chose to open in Norwich and that its near by.

This bookstore always has a good range of stock, but is an odd place to shop. Popped in most recently on 16 Sept. I'm sure that the lady at the counter has many skills, but working in a customer-facing environment isn't one of them. We purchased half a dozen books, but she didn't utter a single word throughout the transaction or make any eye-contact. And was so slow.Though I must say I was even more perplexed at such a right-on organisation having the in-store heating on full blast (in mid-September!) and the double front doors wide open.

Excellent little bookshop with a good range of books across different genres/subject matters. One of those places where you want to keep on popping by to see what's new. Very impressed.

It’s a nice store but last time I went in there they had a Socialist Workers Party poster up. Given the history of socialism, this seems like an extremely inappropriate gathering for an Amnesty bookshop to advertise.

I love a browse in this bookshop. Currently fiction books are 3 for £5 and with such a diverse range of books on offer, you are unlikely to walk away empty handed.

Nice slection of books and staff are lovely, best organised charity bookshop i've been in too. Shame about the prices, its about 10-35% ish off the rrp price for a tattered second hand version :/
