St James the Great,
I too have walked across the fields from Saxon mill to here but today I went there cycling on a cold dull day. Nice to get out of town so easily.

St James the Great,
St James is more than a lovely church in a great position with views down to the Avon and Saxon Mill pub .It is unusual in many respects ; the main one is that most Sundays it is full , an unusual occurrence in these secular times. It has only three or so members of the congregation who live in the parish. Perhaps be because of the sense of community or in religious terms fellowship.Perhaps because it has traditional beautiful Anglican services but conducted by women who have a deep commitment to 21st century relevance but also placing the Bible in it's historical context . It is no fundamentaist stronghold nor a happy clappy establishment but a living out of a traditional faith in todays diverse world.Give it a fair try and enjoy the welcome.
