Lucy's Pop Choir Leeds (Chapel Allerton)
I joined the choir as I wanted to sing with purpose and direction and meet some new friends in my local area. I stayed because of the great variety of songs to learn, great support and teaching, the fun atmosphere with wonderful people and the opportunities to build my confidence in a safe environment, the gigs we do have been massively valuable in terms of building my self esteem. I have been in several choirs before. Lucy’s Pop Choir was different as it has consistent and good quality teaching and support, rehearsals at a time and in a location that fit into my lifestyle perfectly, and a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. My favourite thing about the choir is Hannah! And the lip bubble warm up! I feel my life is different as I have a hobby of my own which has improved my self confidence and gives me a weekly boost, I have performed in public which I never thought I could/would do and I've met some amazing new friends. I would tell anyone to come for your free taster and if it isn't for you, I'll eat my hat!

I wanted to join a choir because I have always loved singing, so I wanted to do it more regularly and I had also just moved to the area and wanted to meet new people and be part of my community. I found Lucy’s Pop Choir very welcoming, friendly and it helped me manage stress. I enjoy learning about singing and practicing it with the group. I feel more part of my community and it helps me to manage stress and anxiety which I have struggled with a lot. It is also helping me increase confidence as I often find it difficult to meet new people and be in groups but as we sing, it’s not too intense so I can get to know new people in a relaxed way. I want to say thanks to Lucy’s Pop Choir Leeds for creating a fun, inviting and relaxed choir which has allowed singing to be a bigger part of my life.

I love singing and have always been in choirs at school.I joined Lucy's Pop Choir and I enjoy the songs, the people, and the choir director is fab. I find singing distracts me and de-stresses me more than anything else. My favourite thing is singing soprano harmonies and having a laugh! Since joining, my life is happier and a little more varied. Why don't you give it a go. Nothing to lose and most likely lots to gain! Rosie, who runs our session, is fabulous- love her!

I joined Lucy's Pop Choir because I enjoy singing and it's more fun to do it with others. Eli is a great teacher, she gets the quality from us but with fun and no pressure of formal concerts but informal gigs. I love that there are no formal concerts where you have to be word perfect, and we have more relaxed choir meetings. I sing more confidently now and of course have got to know more people. If you want a fun, relaxed sing along then join us, if you want a more formal structured choir then no.

I joined the choir as I love singing with other people. I stayed because of the friendly choir director, friendly choir members, and for the fun and uplifting sessions. I have been part of a choir before. Lucy's Pop Choir differs from other choirs I have attended by having a set format of learning a new song each week or every other week. The same people tend to attend Lucy's Pop Choir regularly, which makes it easier to get to know everyone. We have a lot of fun singing together and I find the choice of songs enjoyable and uplifting. I’ve also met some new people and it provides me with an enjoyable way to relax. Hannah is a fantastic director and we'll really miss her when she moves to Ireland. She motivates us, entertains us and leads the choir in a fun and friendly way. I would tell people to give it a try, as the choir is friendly and inclusive and new people are made to feel very welcome.

I joined the choir as I love music and enjoy singing along to whatever I’m listening to, and really fancied singing for real! I found Lucy’s Pop Choir friendly and welcoming, and I’ve made some new friends too. My favourite thing about choir is that no matter how I feel, I don’t even need to get changed to go, I just turn up and I always feel better. I really look forward to meeting up with everyone each week, and sometimes a few of us will stay for a drink afterwards, so I would say it’s given me a night out mid week! I would say to anyone thinking of joining, don’t worry as you don’t do an audition, Hannah makes it fun and nobody minds how you sound, within reason!!

I haven't sung in a choir since I was at school, but I wanted to get out of the house more and I enjoy singing, so I decided to give Lucy's Pop Choir a go. That was 4 years ago! It's so friendly and welcoming, our choir director Eli is one of the most fun and enthusiastic people you could ever meet. I love the range of songs we do and I always leave in a great mood! It gave me back some time for myself after having children and has definitely improved my mood. I've also met some really lovely people. Anyone should give it a go if they enjoy singing. It's all about fun and socialising, no music to read or pressure to perform. Getting the chance to take part in gigs and events is amazing, gives you a real sense of achievement and we always have a great time!

I joined the choir because I wanted to sing with others - and to have fun! Lucy’s Pop Choir Leeds is a very relaxed, friendly and fun choir. Hannah, the Director, strikes the right balance between allowing us to chat - and then getting on with the singing. I've been in a few choirs over the years, ranging from church choirs to an a capella choir. Lucy's Pop Choir is more informal. My favourite thing about the choir is the inclusivity, and I've made new friends. I'd say to anyone thinking of joining, just do it. There's no auditions, no-one will be listening to you and judging you, and you'll have fun, as well as learn new songs.

I enjoy singing but only ever at home, then I joined the choir. My favourite thing is the friends I’ve made as well as the chance to sing. Rosie is lovely and professional too.. I’ve been off for a few weeks and can’t wait to get back! If you're thinking of trying it then just do it! People are friendly and welcoming and you’ll get so much from the freedom of singing.
