I've been part of this family for almost five years now. Capoeira became part of my life almost a quarter of a century ago, but by around 2005 work, and family, and injury, pushed me away from it.Then in 2019, after we moved here to Southend, Brazilarte rekindled capoeira in me. My love of it, my joy in it. Friendship, fun, care for one another, an energy which lifts the soul and feeds the spirit. Training with my brothers and sisters here never fails to lift my heart. I'd urge anyone to come and give it a try. It's a hell of a workout - and a heck of a welcome.

Although I haven’t trained for a long time, I recently attended a bjj seminar at brazilarte and was immediately hooked again. My only regret is that I didn’t go a lot earlier. A friendly, welcoming atmosphere with no ego. Highly recommended

I have trained in martial arts previously. I wanted to learn BJJ and was delighted to find BrazilArte Academy . The atmosphere is most welcoming from Biscuim and Emma.The training with Biscuim is intense but he is very patient and very keen to share his knowledge in a clear and humble way.It does not matter if you have any experience or not. Or you want training for your kids. There is a lovely family atmosphere and community spirit.

What a great Academy. At first I took my boys there for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, but I was so impressed with the family friendly atmosphere and brilliant tuition, that I had to give it a go myself. Eighteen months later and my fitness level is as good as its ever been.

I cannot recommend BrazilArte academy enough. Biscuim and Emma are lovely people and excellent fun teachers. I have been to adult's capoeira for a year, I am middle aged and I have come so far! The other people in the class are all levels and ages and have been very friendly, encouraging and welcoming to slightly self conscious me. My little boy attends the little ones class and loves the playful instruction and drumming. And, my very favourite Friday night out, the women's circle events are magic.

I have been going to these classes with Biscuim and the Brazilarte family for about a year and half now and I live every lesson, it’s great to see more and more new faces recently after being at covid and everyone at the club is very gracious and no one sees themself of best of the class which is beneficial to everyone.

I have been training Brazilian jiu-jitsu at Brazilarte for just over a year now and travel from Grays when shifts at work and other commitments allow. This is a fantastic academy, experienced, knowledgeable instructors and friendly, welcoming members. Thoroughly recommend.

Amazing academy with fantastic classes, for all different skills, interests and fitness levels. The owners are lovely and always very welcoming also, would definitely recommend for anyone wanting to get fit and have fun at the same time.

Me and my 3 daughters have been coming here to capoeira and BJJ classes for almost a year now. We really enjoy the time spent here, the adult classes are great and the kids classes get them engaged and having fun. It has a good friendly and family atmosphere here.
