Extremely expensive and unreliable. Cost £23 for two and a half hours. For a ‘Green city’, these should be more reasonable just as the previous BTN bikeshare was before Beryl took over. A real shame as I won’t be using again due to the pure expense.

This is an absolute rip off. Way more expensive than taking the bus and they have closed down almost all of the old drop off points. The only ones available are directly on the seafront, so also pointless if you have to get anywhere. The bikes themselves seem ok to ride but really not worth the money or having to go miles out of your way to drop them off.Rather pointless and massively overpriced. I will be walking until I get my own bike back from the repair shop.

Clearly a scheme that ignores the people of Brighton and Hove and is purely a tourist attraction. There are no useful parking bays for shopping, work etc. and the rides are extremely expensive and the boundaries almost impossible to keep within. This poorly planned and executed scheme will not help take vehicles off the roads in Brighton and Hove. I hope that no public money has gone in to this

Brilliant brilliant asset and I love being able to use these both at the weekend and sometimes to commute into Brighton.Challenges are the team meant to distribute the bikes around after a busy weekend seem unable to do so, meaning there are often no bikes at either end of the range - Saltdean to Portslade and loads in the centre. The other issue is the lack of connectivity. The app is very sensitive to phone signal and struggles if there isn’t maximum bars available. Also, lots of them just don’t unlock. This could be great but needs more on the ground operation support to work properly. Spend some more money on staff and this can be five stars.

I had a great time but the person I was had issues with the bikes and app. First one the break was jammed and he wasn’t able to end any of his trips without messaging the app support

Price Complaints:1. Between March to August 2023, the previous price at Brighton was £1.4 per 10 minutes without an unlock price. Now, Beryl charges an unlock fee on all bike types, and the rate is £2.6 per 10 minutes.2. Very few people would use the pass bundles as they don’t make sense e.g. £32 for 800 minutes a month, this price would only be justifiable if the number of pass days is increased to 60 or something more than 30 days.3. Brighton's old bike scheme was more affordable at £65 a year for 30 minutes a day.4. The quality of Beryl's bikes is not significantly improved to justify this price increase.Bike Quality Issues:I’d ignore the number of times the app doesn’t work and focus on more serious issues.5. Beryl's bikes have issues with the seats, leading to accidents and unstable riding. My friend had to go to the hospital due to a fall from a Beryl bike, and after waiting 5 hours at A&E she gave up and went home with suspecting broken arm!! Check the other reviews of people reporting the same issue. There was no one to contact, and no simple instructions on the app to report the broken bike.As someone who’s a big fan of the old BTN bike scheme I’ll keep pushing for both the prices and the safty on these bikes to improve. I’ll do whatever it takes so please anyone who is reading my review and agree with it, be positive and message the council and your MP (the council paid ~£15M of our tax money to bring this new bike scheme)!!!)

Used once got fined for not locking rear wheel even though that wasn't mentioned once, either in the app instructions or on the bike itself. Got a refund but they were a-holes about it. You'll get a charge if you can't lock it to a station which is very common. Cheaper to get the bus.

My friend and i had no luck unlocking 2 bikes at the same time. Either the back wheel wouldn't unlock or wasn't in the right position. We tried 6 times at different locations and couldn't get 2 to work. The only relief was that we got full refunds when we managed to unlock 1 but not the 2nd so we didn't lose any money, just wasted a lot of our time.
