I am so grateful to all the staff at Burlington Hall for taking such good care of my Mum. From the moment I went to visit, Tom (the Manager) has been wonderfully supportive in helping her settle in. It is a beautiful place with a homely feel, good food and lots of activities going on. I think the reviews on carehome.co.uk give a more realistic picture. Very happy with our choice.

Appalling. The day to day staff are great, caring etc. The manager Thomas and Director Sue are under investigation by Action Fraud for defrauding the residents. When a resident qualifies for CHC fully funded Care Thomas agrees with the NHS a low rate and then invoices the families for a contribution towards the cost of care and accommodation. This is FRAUD. When we complained they started to abuse our family member. They then claimed that a Mental Capacity Assessment had been carried out and that our family member lacked capacity and they were refusing us to remove her from the home. They failed to ever evidence this assessment. We removed her almost threats to get us arrested. The Police confirmed they had NO legal rights to detain her. Eventually although Thomas had told the CQC he would send a copy of the capacity assessment to them he was forced to admit that he didn't have any capacity assessment to show she lacked capacity. He was simply ABUSING our loved one. Also toenails weren't cut and had become severely ingrown. Medication wasn't given on time. Thomas even claimed our loved one was 'so poorly she was awaiting the doctor attending,' in order to stop her from going out. We rushed straight over to find she was up, dressed, stated she felt perfectly well etc. We had booked a doctors appointment for our loved one and Thomas tried to ban us from taking her there! We had to get the GP to write to say he wanted to see her along with her son, reluctantly Thomas was forced to release her. The GP confirmed she was completely fit and well, it was just false inprisonment by Thomas. We never took her back, despite Thomas's threats to get us arrested we weren't.To this day they still have personal possessions of hers, earrings, doctors letters etc. They finally released some letters saying she had hospital appointments two days AFTER the appointment should have been attended.Such a shame, the latest CQC report has my comments saying what a fantastic home, yet once the conspiracy to defraud came to light the true levels of Thomas and Sue's ABUSE came to light. So highly scary!Avoid at ALL cost, no matter how nice the home appears. Also our loved one is 'do not resuscitate,' even when they had to call the paramedics to her they failed to give the paramedics the form. According to some paramedics this is a common problem with the 'seniors' refusing to hand over the forms to them, without the form in their presence the paramedics / hospital would be legally obliged to resuscitate. So whilst the day to day care seems good, the detail, which none of us see when walking around, is appalling and staff abuse and neglect the residents. The families are then blamed for any failures. When it came to light that medication hadn't been given to my loved one no phone call was made, on returning her from a trip out I was met with a barriage of abuse of 'how dare you take her out at 9:45 she hadn't been given her 8:00 medication - she has missed her medication because of you.' On raising a formal complaint it was completely ignored. Many other residents are also financially abused and are being unlawfully charged for a contribution towards their care and accommodation, the families don't realise. Also some people qualify for CHC funding but the families don't realise and Thomas fails to ask the district nurses to carry out the assessment meaning he is charging families / vulnerable people when he knows the NHS should be paying for their care. Not one formal complaint has been acknowledged and certainly we have not received a response to our formal complaints.Avoid this home at all costs, it appears lovely, the rooms and staff are nice, Thomas is an excellent salesman but ABUSES the residents financially and permits neglect within the home and then supports the staff in their neglect

I'm a carer working in Burlington Hall. Even though I have a lot of other care homes in close proximity to my home and Burlington Hall being far away, I travel all that distance just to work at this beautiful care home where we are appreciated and supported for the work we do. Thankyou for giving me an opportunity to be a part of this team and do something good for the elderly. I wish the very best to Burlington Hall Care Home for the years to come.

The care of my elderly aunt in this facility is beyond my expectations. The staff goes above and beyond with her care. The peace of mind I have knowing that the care she is receiving there is equivalent to care a family member would be giving. As always there are many questions when choosing a facility for a loved one and they were all answered politely and with patience. The facility is very clean and well maintained. I would highly recommend this facility in a heartbeat. My Aunts is happy and always smiling so how could I not!
