We took a 4 night break from Apperley Bridge in Molly Moo recently and had a great trip. Meet greet and initial training was excellent. The quality of the boat equipment and fittings were terrific and the reputation of Bear Boating with the professionals on the canal was excellent. This is not a break to sit and relax it is all go man go but great fun. After 4 days of constant meandering canal bridges and locks you really feel that you have got a lot out of it. Only negative couldn’t get the WiFi to work my advise don’t get it ...you don’t need it 4g was great for most of the trip.

As absolute novices we were very nervous but Andy is a brilliant communicator and the experience he crafted over the two days gave us great confidence in our ability to handle a variety of challenges. I can't recommend the course highly enough; worth every penny!

Place closed when we went there, and there is a good snack shack there to allow you to sit and enjoy the canal.

The training we received from Bearboating was 1st class. We were shown how to control the boat correctly and exactly how the locks worked. Also got out inland waterways helmsman certificate. The boat was really well presented and a delight to stay aboard. Very modern with good facilities. The bed was so comfy it was hard to get out of bed of a morning. This particular trip, we were on the boat for 3 weeks with our 2 dogs and never regretted a moment. Thanks to Bearboating for making it possible.

I just wanted to thank bear boating for being a honest company letting us know in advance that our 7 night holiday on little duke would have to be cancelled due to water level issues.He let us know in plenty of time so that we had no issues with cancelling our annual leave at work and gave us options to consider. We have now changed our date and Andy was very appreciative of this.From our experience so far this is a very trustworthy company and will do whatever it takes to do things right for you.We can not wait to finally get on Little Duke next year now.We really appreciate you going above and beyond Andy and we can't to finally meet you.

We have just returned from a weeks boating on Little Duke. This was our 1st time on a broad beam boat. We were met by Mick who showed us everything we needed to know about the boat and he then escorted us up the canal for training, even though this was our 8th time on the canals, I was impressed that this was considered important.The 1st time we went narrow boating we were given extensive training, but ever since then have we have only been asked if we had prior experience and having confirmed we did no training has ever been offered.I have never steered a boat without a traditional tiller and initially found the steering wheel hard to use. I felt like a right amateur, but Mick was incredibly patient and kind.We then had an issue with the heating, user error rather than an actual problem. Dave came out at a time that was convenient to us and he was really helpful. The boat was super, we felt we had value for money, and we were lucky with the weather which is always a plus. I would have no hesitation in recommending Bear Boating.Both Mick and Dave were great, thanks for a super week.

just spent a week on little Duke. absolutely fantastic boat, beautifully kitted out. Two adults, two teenagers and a small dog. had a great time, headed to Skipton and did the Bingley five rise! Great experience and meet a huge amount of canal volunteers at the locks on the way back to Apperley Bridge. thank you and hats off to everyone involved
