Nicky’s been so supportive, and encouraging she is so professional and clearly loves her work. Nicky has an amazing way with our doggies they love her training and have fun too.With just a few classes and a 121 on a particular issue re Barking . I now have a beautiful Westiepoo . I highly recommend her and her team they have everything you need to train both us the owners and our beloved pets.I know that whenever I have a question or possible behaviour issue who I will go to . Nicky has been a great help in training our very bouncy golden doodle. We’ve done both puppy classes and 1:1 sessions with Nicky and not only were they good fun, but full of pragmatic advice and tips. In particular, the 1:1s have really helped us troubleshoot some overexcitable behaviour! Our dog loves Nicky and is so excited every time we see her. Nicky is a great trainer and extremely passionate about what she does. The classes are fun and engaging for the dog’s and full of really helpful tips and tricks for the owners. We got lots of exposure to different things including a horse! And the stuff we learnt was really helpful not only for general obedience but also how to keep your dog / puppy safe. Thanks Nicky :)

Just finished Puppy Workshop 1 and we have learnt so much! Nicky is fantastic to work with and the training games are easy to implement at home with great results as well as being fun for us and our puppy. The classes are kept small and we all got plenty of individual attention and the class group chat is really helpful too. Nicky is always happy to share her knowledge and experience on all aspects of puppy ownership. Can't wait for the next course!

Wonderfully Enjoyable Dog Training ExperienceI have attended various types of dog training classes with the three dogs we've had over the past 20 years, with a mixture of success.So when we got our Fox Red Lab pup last October, I decided to search for a different dog trainer to ones I have used before, and came across Back to Basics. Both my pup and I have throughly enjoyed the sessions that Nicky, who is excellently supported by Clare, have given over the past few months. They have given me a new outlook to dog training, one which is both immensely enjoyable and rewarding.Nicky is always on hand to give advice and tips, and delivers the training with clear explanation of what the dog will learn by doing each of the exercises and the theory behind the different training scenarios you teach them.I would highly recommend Back to Basics to anyone who is looking for dog training.

This is the second time we used Nikkie’s expertise. Nikkie has been extremely helpful with behaviour advice first our puppy in 2017 and recently with our 9 month old rescue dog. She is very knowledgeable and professional but also friendly and happy to answer all our queries. Would highly recommend her one-on-one sessions as well as her group training classes. ( Without her help we would probably have sent the dog back!)

If you are looking for a trainer who is passionate about the work they do, an expert in their field, full of really helpful advise and always available to answer any questions, then Nicky is the one for you. Nicky has been training my 9 month old Boxer since he was 9 weeks old on a one to one basis and what he has learnt, and retained, has been amazing to see. He absolutely adores her and the mere mention of her name makes him become alert and look for her, he is her number 1 fan ! We willingly travel well over an hour each way to see her even though there are numerous trainers around where we live, why ? because I wanted the best !

We've had such an incredible experience with our one to one sessions and puppy workshops with Nicky. We had a series of one-to-one sessions with Nicky and our rescue Lurcher and the progress he has made is amazing. Nicky has a special understanding of how dogs tick, and especially of rescue dogs who may be more nervous and are often older and maybe a bit set in their ways. She patiently and methodically helped us build up his confidence both around us, other people and out on walks. She is an absolute treasure trove of advice and tips and we are so pleased we got the chance to work with her. Our dog is now happier and more confident and so are we as dog owners.
