First experience at a hostel. Booked a private room for about £50. Very cosy with a really comfortable bed a radiator. All the staff were lovely and facilities were very clean. It's only a short walk from the city centre and very much worth the cost.

We arrived very late (around 3 am) and got instructions on how to self check-in, which was very straightforward. The rooms were okay, as was the kitchen. The building itself is very unique and interesting; it feels a bit like you are in a fever dream when walking through the corridors. The breakfast was quite expensive and not really worth it.

I would like to share my wonderful staying at this hostel. It's a cozy hostel with clean rooms and comfortable beds. It's close to the city center, and the best part is that there is always free food at breakfast

Had an incredible experience at Belford Backpacker Hostel! The conversion from an old church was beyond cool and creative, with stunning arts and a relaxing chilling room. The staff was super sweet, checked us in early and provided us with fantastic suggestions for exploring the area. The artwork throughout the hostel was simply amazing. Living inside a beautifully transformed church was mind-blowing! Absolutely loved it! ❤️

Service was amazing, they hand out keys to the room, costs 20 pounds if you lose it. The room was nice, I'm 6 feet tall and the blanket provided was only enough to go from my toes to my neck which is okay i guess. Bathroom and showers are shared upon all rooms, public bathrooms and showers. Hot water in shower. Waters are 1 pound and sodas are 1.50. They have a public dining area downstairs to order food and a relaxing area.

ReviewIt’s a shame that our stay here had to be ruined by the unfriendly, unprofessional and frankly plain rude staff. The location and facilities of Belford hostel are great, however the way I have been treated as a paying customer is appalling. I would love to know if the owner is aware that their business is being run into the ground by a bunch of clowns. They get drunk every single night in the common room and scream like toddlers keeping the customers awake at all hours of the night. When entering the common area you are greeted with eye rolls by the majority of the staff. There is never a staff member at reception, the ‘back in 5 minutes sign’ is their constant excuse, and if you can summon the courage to ring the bell, you’re eventually approached by a staff member who looks as though they would rather you just leave (excluding Seamus and Tara). I have never felt like such a burden when simply trying to pay to extend my stay. The way the manager, Tas, acts is as if he wants to run the place broke. After years of experience working in the customer service industry, including in hotels, I am embarrassed for this company and feel horrible for the owner. P.s the hallway smells like sewerage.

Got one of the four-person bunk rooms for a small group of friends. Really enjoyed the stay! It's definitely a hostel so don't expect a hotel-like experience, but it was nice and quite clean and the staff and other people staying there all seemed respectful and friendly. It's a bit of a walk to get to Old Town but nothing unmanageable. It can also get a bit loud on weekend nights with the other guests coming and going all night but it didn't make my stay any less enjoyable.

Absolute fire hazard. Doors fitted with incredibly heavy closing mechanism yet no internal handle to open them. Several cost hooks were broken off the doors from people using them as door handles.Incredibly loud. The rooms have been knocked up from single skin timber in the centre of the old church interior and there's absolutely nothing in the way of sound deadening. You hear all 100 people and every one of those gloriously heavy doors slamming closed. The earplugs at reception should have been a red flag. The shower facilities were like something you'd find at a festival and the number of toilets is seriously lacking for the number of guests. My female partner had to hunt out toilets downstairs during the night. The staff member who signed us in was a really nice Spanish guy.Don't reward the slum lord running this business. It needs to be massively improved. If there was a fire people would die. Go elsewhere.
