Sarah Kerridge Birth and Postnatal Doula

Sarah supported me postpartum as a night-nanny & doula. I can’t recommend Sarah highly enough. She is extremely knowledgeable, trustworthy and offered practical & emotional support when she came to support me and my 2 week old baby over a two month period. She gave me confidence as a new mother and kept me sane by ensuring I got sleep between night feeds!

Sarah was my post-natal doula when my second child was born and I couldn’t recommend her enough. Her support made such a huge difference in those early, foggy days. And her non-judgmental approach to all thing post-partum (and motherhood in general) was so appreciated. I always knew my baby was safe with her, which gave me security and meant I could take some much-needed rest. In fact my baby loved her so much that their whole face lit up when she walked through the door!But it was also the little things that made those early weeks much easier – bringing me coffee, restoring calm amongst the chaos when my toddler was also at home, making freshly cooked food, children’s laundry magically washed and folded! She really was my fairy godmother.We asked her to stay on for a few extra weeks to help whilst my toddler was also home. Not only did this give me extra confidence as a new mum of two, but it also meant I could have some much-needed one-on-one time with my eldest child, which helped make the transition smoother (for both of us!).If you are thinking about hiring Sarah, please do. You won’t regret it. We can’t thank her enough for her help.

We chose Sarah as our birth doula as we really liked her relaxed and non-judgemental approach. From our initial conversations it was clear that Sarah felt strongly about supporting clients in whatever way they needed rather than pushing a certain approach or philosophy. Her preparatory sessions and availability in the lead up to and weeks after birth gave us peace of mind and confidence in what was the biggest life change for us to date.On the day of my labour, Sarah was a constant and encouraging presence and struck the perfect balance of being an active supporter whilst never intruding on the intimacy of the experience for us as soon-to-be new parents. She was invaluable in offering advice on pain management options, talking through different stages of labour and guiding us with any decisions we needed to make. She was also just brilliant at being a friendly face and extra pair of hands throughout the day.I have no doubt that having her calming influence and knowledge helped us to feel safe and confident during labour and contributed to the rarity of a birth plan actually going to plan. With Sarah by our side, we delivered our baby boy into the water and were home again 18 hours later on what was a beautiful snowy night in London.Thanks so much, Sarah. xx

Hiring Sarah as our birth and post-natal doula was the single best decision we made during my pregnancy.She is professional yet incredibly warm and so supportive. She was an advocate for me in the hospital – she was proactive while still somewhat invisible in the background to not take away from the experience for me and my husband. Once baby was born, she was a massive support while visiting us at home and via text messages – she is a treasure trove of wisdom, and I always knew my baby was safe and in excellent hands with her while I took a needed nap. Throughout the experience, she was so thoughtful and gentle yet clear with her words, which was so important during such a sensitive and emotional time. Sarah made us feel so secure the whole experience - we are so grateful!

I found Sarah an invaluable support in those challenging early days. She helped me through feeding challenges, supported me with looking after my daughter and was so helpful at subtly helping out around house. She helped me to get some rest and recuperate. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
