Nicely located and pleasantly presented next to the Abbey. The staff were friendly. Good selection of sandwiches and cakes. However its biggest downfall is the prices. The cheese scone and cup of tea cost over £6 and the scone wasn't anything special, there was nothing additional to justify the price. The cream tea had a fruit scone which was described as good by my wife but a small portion of jam and a little jar of whipped cream. Again not good for the over £6 we paid for it. At that price we would have expected clotted cream.Annoyingly the 3 teas we had came in one pot which we hadn't been asked if ok. We just about squeezed 3 cups out of and it didn't come with any additional hot water, Although it was supplied when we asked.

Prime location by the Abbey. Was going to go to a chain coffee shop, but thought we'd spend the money in a local independent place. The cup of teas was nice, the hot chocolate too sweet. We ordered a cheese and tomato toastie. £7. It was very disappointing. 2 slices of cheap white bread, 4 thin slices if tomato and a bit of cheese. Won't be going back there again.

Old world type tea room outside of Battle Abbey, they have good lunch options or you can have tea and cake !Table service, friendly staff.Update !First visit for quite a while, I can thoroughly recommend the scone and cream tea!

This is pleasant enough, busy little business. We had just missed breakfast so an early lunch at 1115.I am probably out of step thinking £7.50 is a bit steep for a bowl of soup, but it is what it is.The place is open on Sunday, not much else is, and nice enough, warm out of the early winter chill

After finishing touring the Battle of Hastings (Battle Abbey), this is a good place to have afternoon tea.The tea and scones taste amazing! I ordered English breakfast tea and scones. It was very good that I had to get seconds for both English breakfast tea and scones. The staff are very friendly. Sitting on the patio tables while drinking tea and eating scones makes you feel relax and enjoy the outdoors. No rushing just enjoy the view.

Mrs Burton is situated next to the ancient Abbey Gate in Battle. Its a medieval building with a lovely warm atmosphere very fitting in this ancient town. The cooking is top rate and so is the welcome we received. And this is the place to get the best breakfast in Battle.

Lovely oldie worldy tea room. Had a cream tea even though only 10am and it was delicious. A warmed fruit scone and the tiny jars of jam and cream were enough and no wastage. Well worth a visit.

Friendly service, but very expensive for what was a pretty mean portion - £7.50 for a small panini with nothing on the side. The menu doesn’t mislead, but the food doesn’t delight either…
