Another great BH coaching weekend ticked off. I was thinking what to write that maybe useful as its all to easy to slip into the superlatives of these weekends. It goes without saying that the coaching and analysis is top draw but what I wanted to stress is don't be put off if you think that you'll rock up and be intimidated by the levels of other bodyboarders. Its not like that at all, everyone’s in it together and you'll get just as much from watching and learning from others. There's no judgement just encouraging advise that will have you coming out the water better than when you went in.

I just returned to the States after an incredible experience in Portugal with Bodyboard Holidays. Though I had played around in white water on the beaches of the Atlantic Coast, a quest for a more advanced bodyboarding ability and ocean activity landed me in Lagos for a week with some of the coolest people ever. Joao, Mave, and Rob were incredible instructors, took care of and explained the daily surfcast, which insured good riding for the day. Above that, they were just awesome human beings. Their individualzed attention, guidance, and support, made a possibly overwhelming experience manageable, fun, and dare I say, addicting. In fact, I went from never wearing fins and catching deep water waves on a bodyboard to catching, trimming, and barrel riding in 4 days! Needless to say, If you're a beginner or an experienced rider, you'd be in great hands with Bodyboard Holidays! Highly highly recommend!

Rob and his team will literally bend over backwards, do a backflip into a 360 all while balancing a cuppa to make sure you have the most epic trip of your life. If you have any concerns or requests let the team know ahead of time and they will have it sorted by the time you get to your destination. Chris produces some sick photos and videos for your memories. Mave hooks it up with top level tips. I’ve been on 2 bodyboard holiday trips (El Salvador & Costa Rica) and have a third scheduled (Bali). I’m looking forward to scheduling even more trips with them in the future. They really have a great plan of introducing bodyboarders to places we could only dream of going to on our own.

The most fun I have had in a long, very long time. Mave was the absolute best at keeping this wild bunch under control and yet having us laughing constantly. He’s smart and witty about bodyboarding in all ways. Encouraging us all to improve our skills. The only reason this isn’t a five star review is that the housing lacked almost all bare-bones amenities that you expect. Where were the towels for this water adventure? Where were the towel racks, countertops in the bathroom — places to put things basically were missing. One of the rooms had no hot water, and one of the rooms was so hot they were sleeping on the roof terrace. But it was worth all the BIG FUN we had!!!! If you have dietary restrictions, be sure to mention everything that you do not eat.

Just got back from Portugal after spending a week with Mave & João and I feel absolutely amazing! We had a great group of like minded bodyboarders, hot sun, offshore winds all week and some incredible waves! Mave & Joao are a top team, their kindness, patience and expertise really made this trip one of my my best memories of bodyboarding around the world so far and I really cannot wait to book another. I wanted a trip where my only worry was which wave to pick and this certainly delivered exactly that. Everything taken care of and the personal ‘in water’ and video analysis really helped me to improve my riding. Thank you bodyboard holidays I couldn’t have wished for any more!

Fantastic week in Morocco for me and my husband Ali. We are both relatively new to bodyboarding and we were a bit nervous about the trip and our abilities. But, Rob’s coaching really helped us to progress and the local Moroccan team were amazingly welcoming and patient with us!Fantastic group of guests of all abilities - everyone ensuring that waves were shared and supporting each other as we learned. Guest house and food were top notch - roof terrace a real bonus.Chris Levi was out in the heat all day everyday catching our waves for play back and to capture every drop! A fantastic weekend: my first experience of bodyboarding and I’m definitely going on another trip. It was such fun, with such a friendly feeling in the group. The coaches were excellent. They were amazing in the way they were able to give everyone the attention they needed and I learnt so much and made amazing progress over the weekend. The video analysis sessions were really useful and gave the group a chance to be together, share tips and give encouragement. Brilliant organisation before the weekend. The hiring of equipment was easy and any email queries were always answered quickly. The sunshine, magnificent waves and great company were fantastic, but by the end of the weekend, I also felt I had become part of something very special. Thanks to all at Bodyboarding holidays. I’ll be back soon!

I’m a newbie to bodyboarding. Did the April Newquay Weekend with Rob as our coach. Rob helped me get over my fear of getting past the break and helped me catch my first waves. I highly recommend sessions with this super friendly and helpful team. They split groups depending on your ability. Great to see the video analysis after. An awesome intro to bodyboarding and how to read waves. Booked up for another weekend in September!

This is my 3rd BodyBoard Holidays trip, but first to Indo. Portugal and California were amazing, but South Sumatra is another world entirely. Amazing reef waves and incredible breaks, all to ourselves. Hard to get to, but the resort is a great base to stay at, their food was fantastic. Grant has amazing local knowledge, the pics and feedback are top notch, and as usual Rob was an incredible host and coach, helping me make the most of the hollow waves on offer. Awesomely, he worked extra hard to make sure my wife Kris (still a beginner) got great personal coaching and got some barrels too! Just an incredible bucket list trip. Thanks BBHols - we'll be back - Lombongan next!

This was a great trip. I was able to catch a lot of waves and I received expert instruction from Mave and João. They did a great job of selecting fun and exciting surf spots. I was able to advance my beginner skills and learn wave selection, get comfortable consistently being on the outside, learn how to drop into a wave and then assess if it would break to the left or to the right, allowing me to catch the wave! It was a good value and was great having accommodations so close to the beach.
