Princes Risborough/Thame Shotokan Karate Clubs
My kids and I really enjoy Mr Hogan's classes and it is great to be able to learn a new skill alongside them. The classes are friendly and well run with a real mix of ages and abilities. It is perfect for families or individuals. We have been attending for over a year in the classroom and on Zoom during lockdown and would highly recommend.

My son and I have been attending classes for 10 months now, always inclusive, mixed for juniors & seniors, with well explained teaching on different karate levels depending on your capabilities. We are already on our fourth belt and my son who needed the discipline & anger control now knows all the moves in Japanese and often teaches me how to do them properly! Mr & Mrs Hogan are very friendly and ran several zoom classes p/wk during lockdown, so great value for the monthly fee and we are enjoying the quarterly tradings to rank up in belts. A great family experience

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn a life skill whether it be on your own or with your children. Sensei Hogan has a patient, inclusive and encouraging style of teaching, and whilst great fun we learn about discipline, control and respect.I started in October last year with my 12 year old daughter and now my wife has joined us and in just a few months we all the physical benefit.A shout out also to Mrs Hogan who is always on hand to support and encourage when needed, especially with the younger students.I cannot recommend enough.

Sensei Hogan is a highly experienced Shotokan instructor and creates a learning environment which is both challenging and enjoyable. He is able to mix the art of karate with regular exercise, opportunity to grade regularly as well as compete in association wide competition. It's a very welcoming place where adults and children, experienced or beginner can come to further their love of karate. Our son loves it and commits to it completely!

This is a brilliant karate class that I do with my wife and 2 daughters - and have done for 3 years now. The instructor makes the classes accessible for all levels and manages to really engage the children. I recommend the class and Mr Hogan unreservedly to anyone considering taking up the sport or looking for a constructive and well run activity for their kids.

Super friendly, family oriented karate club. Genuinely accessible for all levels of ability and all ages. Have been a member for over 8 years, achieved my own 1st Dan, watched my son get near (1st Dan next!!) and have seen many children build their confidence and ability. Blends the respect that is associated with and expected of martial arts with our culture in a way that is both appropriate and effective. Thoroughly recommended.

Fantastic karate classes for all ages. My son has been going for the past 7 years. He's learnt so much about himself, gained confidence as well as discipline and respect. Mr and Mrs Hogan are excellent teachers, so patient and encouraging. Highly recommended!

Since taking up karate 25 years ago, I have trained at numerous clubs across four different countries. Mr Hogan’s club is easily the best that I have experienced. The classes are family orientated and accessible to everyone. Lessons are tailored to individual ability and Mr Hogan is a patient and caring teacher. Experienced karateka will appreciate the traditional style and concentration on technique that is typical of Shotokan karate. If you are looking for an enjoyable, challenging skill to learn in a welcoming and friendly club, this is it!
