The Spa at Rookery Manor

Very poor customer service. I came here with my Mum for a special treat and time to relax after experiencing a stressful few weeks. We drove half an hour to get there and unfortunately arrived 5 minutes late due to unforeseen traffic which was obviously out of our control. We were extremely apologetic and were greeted with a load of stress and rudeness from the staff rushing us through because we were late. We had paid £140 for a 30 minute massage each and afternoon tea package and due to us being 5 minutes late we were only allowed 10 minutes of our massage! It was a very stressful experience and we felt like an inconvenience. My mum felt uncomfortable to even ask to use the toilet before her treatment. The lady at reception was very passive aggressive. She said we were supposed to get a confirmation email stating to arrive a few minutes before our booked in slot, but we never received this email and it was as if she didn’t believe us. We felt like we were being made to feel bad for disrupting the spa schedule. I work in customer service and I genuinely hate to complain but we felt so strongly about it that we wrote an email to the spa to relay our negative experience. The response we received was completely rude and belittling with no empathy or understanding whatsoever. I am not one to write reviews usually, especially negative ones but after the email we just received I felt obliged to do so. Terrible customer service. There is no need for the rudeness. There are always nicer ways to say things. We are the paying customers and we were/have been made to feel extremely unwelcome. We will not be returning.

Went for the winter special plus afternoon tea. Massage was really lovely with Chloe, back, neck and shoulders and then lower leg and feet. Spent time in the Sauna, steam room and pool. Only thing that stopped me giving 5 stars was that I noticed that the very edge of the pool needed a clean but apart from that very nice. Afternoon tea was gorgeous, very plentiful and good choices.

We had a nice day but the spa was a bit disappointing for a few reasons: mostly small things that could easily be fixed. As other reviewers have noted, the facilities are in need of some revamping, for example, there was mold around the sides of the hydrotherapy pool. We were given two lockers between three even though there were plenty to spare (really not sure why). We had to order our drinks when we arrived at 10 for our afternoon tea at 2 (again, not sure why). We had to pay for additional drinks as we went and couldn't set up a tab, which meant we had to have wallets with us. Drinks at afternoon tea were served in plastic cups and the scones tasted rather mass-produced. The facilities weren't ideal for our party, which I suppose is my fault for not checking the website more carefully. There's no actual swimming pool and the hydrotherapy pool is very warm, so there was nothing suitable for our pregnant friend (hydrotherapy pool, hot tubs, steam room and sauna, which were all too hot for her). A nice enough day but I won't be going back.

A gorgeous spa with hot tubs, sauna room, steam rooms and so much more. Feels very clean and smells lovely. Really helpful and personable staff. Big thanks especially to Martha. We were celebrating our engagement and she was kind enough to offer us glasses of fizz! Would definitely recommend!

Had my hen day at The Rookery Manor Spa yesterday and myself and all my girls had a wonderful time. The treatments were lovely, the hydropool was our favourite thing in the spa but the afternoon tea was incredible! Will be returning in a few weeks for my wedding nails to be done and will be returning in the future for more spa days! Highly recommend.

Lovely Day, didn't want to leave. So relaxing and great company. It's such a shame the place is closing at the end of December. Although, it needs quite a lot of investment to bring it back to its former glory

Had an absolutely brilliant day here. The treatment rooms and treatments themselves are lovely. Even though it seemed like it was going to be really busy but there was enough room for everyone and it never seemed overcrowded. Afternoon tea was great and I still can't stop thinking about the scones!

We came yesterday for a well deserved girls day. It was so easy to book. The staff all friendly and made us feel welcome at the start and showed us around the facilities the reason for 3 stars was our dressing gowns had holes in them and we noticed other clients had new looking grey ones, everytime we ordered a drink or snacks we would have to walk back from the bar area to reception to pay for our stuff which is definitely a pain but what made it worse was we was interrupted by a staff member while relaxing and enjoying the pool to make sure we pay for our pre booked lunches before we leave. which left us all to feel very uncomfortable. As we wasn't going to leave without paying.

We turned up to see if they had availability. Even though they were full, they were kind enough to book us in to use the spa. We had a complimentary hot drink and it was lovely and relaxing. The staff were accommodating and helpful. We will return.

Lovely place. Went to celebrate mine and a friends 49+1 birthdays. Great place to relax and rejuvenate. Massage was wonderful. Could of stayed there for hoursOur time there was from 2 til 5. Just a side note it shuts at 5pm so you have to be gone by then. Means in the afternoon slot you get less time to use the facilities. We had to rush to get ready and out. Not something I personally like doing. Apart from that it was great.
