I joined the club in 2007 after moving to Manchester and having no gay friends in the area. I’d had a break from playing rugby and wanted to get back in to playing, but wasn’t sure if I’d be welcomed in a “regular” club. Looking back, I’m sure I would have been as rugby is generally very inclusive, but I’m glad I joined the Spartans as I’ve made lifelong friends and has some amazing experiences including tours in the US, Europe and Australia.If you’re looking to return to rugby or are brand new to the sport, please come down and give us a go. We have coaching for all levels of experience and although we were set up originally for the LGBT community, we now have plenty of straight players and supporters.Join, you won’t regret it!
