JD Gyms Newcastle-under-Lyme

From someone that's never been in a gym, to now someone that loves going! It's a great place. Huge space, brand new equipment, decent range of classes and staff that are really helpful! And the fact it costs £19.99 pm is well priced!

BEST ... GYM ... EVER!Wow, I mean just take a look at the pictures! This place is MEGA!To think this used to be the old bus depot on Liverpool Road, it's now the nicest gym you'll ever visit. The cardio area alone must have over 100 machines in it, so waiting around definitely won't be an issue. And I do like the high ceilings and open plan nature of this gym.For anyone who likes functional and weightlifting - they have all the Eleiko branded stuff in it's own Eleiko branded area, so you can lift to your hearts content.For people who love the classes, there's an amazing orange studio with a massive amount of kit. And the cool blue Spin room for spinning classes.Guys: that free weight area is the best you'll ever come across. Seriously. It's like a jungle full of machines and weights. You'll never struggle to get on anything here.Oh, and the changing rooms have TV screens and saunas too!And the price? It's so low that it's almost a joke! For all this and 24 hour access for £19.99 per month (I have the multi-site membership, which is just an extra fiver) it's a no brainer. In fact, it's a steal. I'm laughing at how cheap this gym actually is, I just can't believe it.Seriously, join up!

Nice new gym. Nice big car park, hour gym is big and lots of different machines. Some of them don't work anymore though. Nice changing room and nice toilet. When I first came in they gave out free drinks and protein bars, it was nice.

My first week at JD gyms, Soooooo cold in the gym and the changing rooms aircon is blowing a cold air a very strong cold draft. Don't understand why they have it on this time of year.. Got members and staff walking around in quilted body warmers, from what ive been told from other members it's going to get worse. Apparently the staff come out with all sorts of excuses, other members complained last winter over and over again. Head office just make up things to say. The gym very cramped the benches are so close dumbbell rack and carnt get to the barbell racks, they shoved the racks in the corner so you carnt get to them when other members are using the benches. Very disappointed, will be cancelling my membership

Good gym with everything you need with plenty of free parking. I tend to go during the quieter times so I manage to do my full workout without having to wait for many of the weight machines.The staff are friendly enough and the place is always clean when I go.

As a gym beginner I feel like it's a good gym. Lots of equipment, even when busy there is still equipment free to use. I don't use the weights etc really but have noticed that there might be a wait for them. Lots of parking spaces, and changing rooms are nice and clean, I've seen lots of classes online but haven't been to any of them yet.

Equipment is good but Staff is unhelpful (at least the one i faced today). Would be more stars if they could train their staff to be actually helpful if someone is asking for help. Also to add, if you forget something in car and go back to get in, the app wouldn’t let you back in. Please have a better system or you might drive some people out of your gym

****AVOID***Cancellation terms are unclear and unfair.30 day notice commences after JD process it, not after it is sent. Conveniently for JD Gyms they take weeks to process your request, but reply quickly to any challenge on their T&Cs.JD gyms need to follow a Plain English commitment, and write T&Cs for the consumer not to trick a longer membership.

The gym is nice, it also has a sauna but the best part is the zumba classes run by the super energetic Andrea. I honestly go to the gym just for those! I have been joining her classes about a month and half ago and that helped me lost 7kg. The classes are super fun and friendly. 100% recommend it!
