CNB MOTs - Southampton (CNB Motor Engineering)

Discovered front bumper damaged in nearby hotel car park on Saturday morning. Had a 250 mile journey home with it almost dragging on the floor. Out of desperation took it to CNB the nearest open garage to see if they could advise if it was driveable. The response from the owner Chand was almost unbelievable. He spent well over half an hour manipulating the bumper back into position then stitched the broken plastic frame together with cable ties as a 'temporary' fix. The quality of the repair is excellent, being extremely solid, and not only got us home without incident but buys us time at home to drive the car to body shops. His repair work took us down from being highly stressed over how to get home to calm confidence in the drive back. Incredibly he refused any payment for the work. In this day and age I think this kind of response from a business is increasingly rare and we feel extremely lucky we chanced on his garage. If we lived in the area we would be recommending him to all family and friends. As it is though all we can do is write this review for locals to read and consider giving him a go. The garage may not be the prettiest around but you will be served by someone who is totally honest and clearly believes in doing a top class job every time.

Good honest repairs owner good to deal with

Honestly can’t thank this garage enough. Had an issue where the under tray of my car became partially detached and was scraping along the road on a 300 mile drive from East Sussex to Cornwall (not exactly ideal, especially at motorway speeds). Not knowing what to do, I searched for nearby garages and decided to phone this place on the off chance that they might be willing to help as they were one of the few places open. I phoned at 5:15pm (this was on a Saturday btw), and despite the fact that they closed at 6pm and I was still a good 15 minute drive away, they happily said to bring it down so that they could have a look at it. Upon arriving, they informed me that they were in the middle of an MOT so I would have to wait a short while (obviously not a problem at all), and then very kindly proceeded to offer us teas and coffees and even went out of their way to get a cold drink for the child we were travelling with. After a short while, the mechanic (Chand I believe) started work on my car by removing the entire under tray and then continued by re affixing it and installing completely new fixings and bolts to make sure that it was safe and wouldn’t come off again. He even let me have a look under the car and showed me exactly what work had been carried out.All in all, we were there for less than two hours from start to finish and left with the issue I had with my car being completely resolved at a fraction of the cost that I was expecting to pay. We were then back on the road and made it to Cornwall later on that day. Prior to contacting this garage, I had imagined that we were likely looking at a last minute overnight stay somewhere nearby with a child and a dog before I could even get my car looked at so thank you once again for saving us from a potentially very stressful situation and saving our holiday! Great, honest and kind mechanic.

Booked my MOT at short notice. very efficient service and although only my MOT, a very favourable impression of this garage and proprietor.

Had a last minute MOT and couldn't be happier with the service. Quick and efficient, will be coming back for any work that may be needed to be done in the future, plus future MOTs

Swerve like the plague!!!I had arranged with the garage for my car to be brought on Friday to undergo a diagnostics test at 3pm last Friday. I waited four days, and left work early to take my car round.When I got to the premises the metal gate was locked! yes locked. So I rang the garage up and the a man picked up the phone and explained his position. Unbeknown to me he was attending an Unplanned funeral" for which he said was "exceptional". He wasn't apologetic at first and thought nothing of leaving his customers hanging around on a Friday afternoon.What I found most "exceptional" is that he could not use a phone to call me and explain why I was left standing by the edge of a busy road! Top service!I have been looking for a local business to carry out MOT’s for my family. Having tried another local business late last year with an average response I tried CNB out for the first time this last week for my daughters car.I was very impressed, overall.
