Took my petrol mower to these guys. It was sorted out for me in four days. The costs was reasonable, guess I'll be going back to them if ever it stops working again.

Very helpful. We have always found them to go out of their way to assist. It was initially a repair then we decided to buy a cobra mower too.

I rarely post reviews as there is usually always something more important to do with the time, but here I will make an exception as I feel particularly aggrieved and believe others who are thinking of using this company should hear the story.I brought in a 3yr old Hyundai self-propelled mower for repair at the start of Oct (last of the growing season) as the self-propelled function wasn’t working. Excuses stated at that point with expressions of distaste for Hyundai, how poor a mower they were, and how difficult it was it get parts with delays of 6weeks or more. The owner agreed to look at it, but said the gearbox was most likely trashed (assumption!?) because that’s a ‘common issue’. I work away lot so my wife chased by phone a week or two later and was told the gearbox was seized (“trashed”) because it hadn’t been set up properly, and that the cable position meant the gears were being ‘ridden’ over time, but it could be used to cut by ‘just pushing it’, the grass needed cutting so she came in to collect it. The argument was then put forward that was it worth waiting 6weeks or longer and paying £150+VAT (£180) plus labour for a new gearbox, or buying a new mower for just a little more, more specifically one his new Cobra mowers. My wife came home with a new mower that day. First day of use it wouldn’t start so she made a call and the owners son, (a polite pleasant young lad) came out and fixed it. It turned out the Cobra hadn’t been set up properly and the ‘dead man’s’ lever / cable was in the incorrect position, (ironic!). She continued to mow the grass which was damp but no different to conditions used with the Hyundai countless times. After less than 30 mins the mower just stopped and the self-propelled function wouldn’t work, another call was made and the mower picked up. We followed back to the workshop because at this point my wife had lost confidence in the mower and wanted a refund. Apparently it was our fault the mower broke because the belt drive had slipped off due to the ‘wet grass’. A refund was however reluctantly given. If it had ended there I wouldn’t be writing this review. Wanting a second opinion I took the Hyundai to Dean Morris Lawn Mowers in Wilmslow https://www.deanmorrislawnmowers.co.uk/ where I received an honest service with no attempt to ‘up sell’. The gearbox wasn’t seized at all, the belt drive was broken, it had snapped and only cost £74 incl VAT to fix. Sandbach mowers had obviously not even examined our mower in the two weeks they had it yet claimed the gearbox was at fault when it clearly wasn’t, and then used that reason to sell a new mower. Moral of the story - always get a second opinion and if you live near Sandbach with a broken mower, the 17mile round trip to Dean Morris in Wilmslow will be well worth your while and save you money.

Not impressed sadly. Phoned up on Mon 30th October for a quote on repairing a set of hedge trimmers. Was informed £30 so I decided it was worth repairing. When I dropped them off later that day I enquired how long they would take and how they would be repaired and was told a week but more than likely they would be back be the Friday 3rd. Also got told a connection would be put in the middle of the cable so no length would be lost.Got a phone call thurs 9th Nov to say they were ready so went to collect the following day. Arrived to see there wasn't a connection so enquired how they had been fixed and the owner advised me it was cheaper to put a replacement cable on from an old set. Bearing in mind I had been quoted £30 for the repair including the connection, I was gobsmacked when handed the bill of £48. I advised the young lad serving me that the lady had quoted me £30. The next minute the owner reappeared telling me it had vat on top which was out of his control and that it was £40 per hour labour and £50 an hour for a lawnmower (even though that was irrelevant). I advised I'd been quoted £30 when I phoned and asked how much it was going to cost me and had I known it was going to be £50 I wouldn't have brought them in and bought a new pair instead. Nothing I can do was his reply and to be honest he was quite rude, obviously embarrassed by the incorrect information I'd been given but no apology whatsoever. Anyway, 2 stars because the lady was nice at the outset even though she was £18 out with the quote, the timescale of repair was wrong and the way it was repaired was also different to how I'd been informed. All I need now is my soninlaw (whose trimmers they are) to advise me the cable is now shorter too ! Would I use or recommend this firm again, def not even though I live in Sandbach. Not impressed at all.
